Description: The Lion tank is Stellar Enterprises top of the line Automated Heavy Tank. With the main armament of a Heavy Rail Cannon the tank can cause immense damage to all ground units and installations at large distances. The Rail Cannon can propel 155mm rounds of different types upto 25 km, making it affective at conducting artillary bombardments as well as engaging other ground units in combat. In total there are a hundred rounds avalible for the cannon, but once spend have to be reloaded by speciallized vehicles. This can be done during combat operations since the tank can still use its other laser weapons to keep enemies at bay.
The other weapons onboard can all be independently targeted and fired with the automated control system. To make the job for the control unit two weapons control units were added to control both of the onboard turrets. They are linked to the centeral control system, but usually select their own targets and can varify that one target doesn't get attacked twice.
These tanks, along with all other ground units, contain location becons that give them position to all friendly units in the field. This ensures a coordinated attack or defense as well as erases friendly fire issues. Throughout battle each unit will communicate through comm system to ensure that all units are doing their jobs and to make sure two units don't attack the same target. If the comms are being jammed, however, the ground systems will switch over to a Direct laser datalink system. This system is only line of sight, but can be relayed through drones flying over head.
The onboard missiles can attack both air and ground targets. These can be given targeting information from the unit itself, from other field units, or from drones, allowing the missiles to attack unseen targets upto 50km away. There eight onboard missiles have no reloads, however, and must be manually reloaded after and during the battle.
Onboard is a new sophisticated Missile Interception System (MIS) which is capable of intercepting the smallest missiles and protecting the tank from all directions. The system consists of a top side 360 degree sensor that tracks and targets all incoming projectiles. If one if on a collision path with the tank it automatically discharges an explosive grenade type round towards it. This round explodes in front of the projectile and showers it in shrapnel as well as a confusive force, either destroying it entirely or damaging the sensor head to knock it off course. These launchers are situated around the hull with two on each side and one in the front and rear. All have an attached magazine that automatically feeds the launcher which magentically discharges each grenade towards its target.
The system is fully automated and requires no input from outside sources. It is capable of reacting within a second and can intercept missiles launched from nearby with the ability of engaging multiple objects at once.
The Lion's hull is made from thick Carbon Matrix Armor, allowing it to withstand considerable damage. Inside the hull of this tank, though, all power systems and shield systems were placed at the front to make room for a rear troop compartment. With that said, a hit that breaks through the front armor could be tragic. With the large weight, powerful repulsors were fitted to the tank to allow it moveablity through most terrans.
The droids racks at the rear of the tank are attached to the sides of the Lion's interior hull. Each rack holds six combat droids which are half folded with legs against their chest. When these racks extend out the droids lower and detatch before proceeding to conduct operations.
Name/Type: Warrior
Designer/Manufacturer: Stellar Enterprises
Combat Role: Automated Missile Personnel Carrier
Crew: 1 ACU-132 Control Unit, 2 WC-57 Weapons Control Units
Length: 14 Meters
Speed: 80 Kph
Shield Rating: 88 SBD
Hull Rating: 70 RU
Weapons: 1 Dual Heavy Laser Cannon Turret, 1 Rapid-fire Laser Cannon, 4 Anti-Infantry Lasers, 6 Ground Missile Launchers, 36 Cell Vertical Launch system
Countermeasures: Full ECM Package, Targeting Computer Jammer, MIS
Troops: 2 Side Racks, 1 two-sided Center Rack, 9 Combat Droids per side (36 total)
Description:This is an Automated Missile/personnel carrier. Each one is built to carry 36 Droids and provide them with fire support. The support comes from both the laser weapons and also from the large number of missiles it carries. The 6 missile launchers are side mounted and have one reload each. These are used for anti air duty or for destroying heavy mechanized units. The other missiles are held in the VLS.
VLS: This is the Vertical Launch System developed to launch larger numbers of smaller missiles. The numbers of cells and missiles they carry can vary, but the one on this unit carry 36 missiles of different variaties. Some of these missiles carry small seismic warheads for large area clearance. Others are able to deliver large numbers of anti-personnel ordinances, such as thermal detonators or grenades. Still others may be used against lighter vehicles or airspeeders. This whole VLS unit is made to be reloadable in less them 5 minutes with a specialized reload vehicle by just pulling out the spent unit and fully replacing it with another preloaded one.
This unit has all the internal systems of the Lion Heavy Tank and working together these units are a great combat force that support each other very well. They are developed to stand upto and defeat most land units in the galaxy.
