SS ASV-100 Adler
Name: ASV-100 Adler
Designation: Atmospheric gunship
Crew: 5
Length: 12.5 meters
Wingspan: 15 meters
Protection Rating, Hull: 10 RU
Protection Rating, Shields: 25 SBD
Speed: 200 km/h atmospheric, 100 MGLT space
Weapons:
2x88mm Anti-Tank weapons (2xsingles, ammunition can either be High Explosive Anti-tank, Armour Piercing Anti-tank, or shrapnel for anti-infantry purposes)
2x20mm autoblasters (nose mounted, for strafing purposes on infantry or light armoured vehicles)
1xFirestorm Quad Laser Cannon (mounted ventrally aft, to defend bomber from enemy starfighters)
Description:
The Army Support Vehicle type one hundred, code-named the Adler, was designed to support Imperial infantry and armour from the air. The gunship is equipped with both anti-infantry and anti-tank weapons of the projectile kind, and with defenses against enemy starfighters. The vehicle has a good blend of both protection and speed, and is very versatile and effective.
The Adler is operated by a crew of five people. Two of them are gunners, one of them controlling the 88mm turrets, the other manning the Firestorm quad laser cannon mounted on top of the vehicle aft. Of the remaining three, one is a pilot, the other a navigator, and the third a communications/army liasion person that determines the gunship's target(s).
The Adler's protection is made up of a basic shield system, particle based, that can absorb up to 25 SBD of damage before failing. The recharge rate on the shield system is 1 to 5 SBD per a minute, depending on how much power is diverted from other systems. The hull armour is basic durasteel armour, not the best for protection, but adequate against flak and small lasers.
The armament consists mainly of two single 88mm cannons, mounted below the wings. Each turret can either be independently trained or coordinated targeted on enemy vehicles, and each cannon has a magazine of one hundred fifty rounds. Standard loadout is one hundred armour piercing rounds, twenty five high explosive shells, and twenty five shrapnel shells. The 88mm cannon have a fire rate of ten rounds per a minute. The ammo is belt fed from the main fuselage to the guns, since the wings wouldn't be able to hold much in the way of ammo. In addition, recoil is basically non-existant with the new feature that has no recoil. (I'll come up with an explanation later for what I'm thinking about).
Secondary armament consists of a pair of 20mm autoblaster cannons mounted under the cockpit, controlled by the pilot, which normally lays down a scatter field of fire when the aircraft is on a strafing run, discouraging infantry from shooting at the aircraft while it's attacking. The other secondary weapon is a firestorm quad cannon that is used against enemy starfighters that may try to attack the bomber.
Finally, the vehicle has a speed of one hundred MGLT in space, while atmospheric speed in most envoirements is rated at mach 2.0.
While this vehicle can be used in a space enviorement, it's best used in it's intended role, acting as support for the Imperial army and SS services, laying down supporting fire as needed on the battlefield.
