Cren Munitions Destroyer – class General Purpose Projectile Launchers:
Each launcher has 10 missiles available for its use. These include 8 Cren Munitions Advanced Concussion Missiles, 0 Cren Munitions Advanced Diamond Boron Missiles, 1 Cren Munitions “Sleeper” Harpoon and 1 Cren Munitions Sonic Missile. However depending on the mission it is possible to change the load carried by the bomber, substituting in more of a certain type for less of another.
Cren Munitions Advanced Concussion Missiles (ACM):
These are newly designed missiles that can be fired from pretty much any concussion missile launchers (advanced, heavy, normal, etc.) which has the same payload of the standard advanced concussion missile but has an increased speed.
Cren Munitions Advanced Diamond Boron Missiles (DBM):
These are standard Diamond Boron Missiles except they are produced by Cren Munitions. Currently Cren Munitions is experimenting in new missiles designs using ideas from the Diamond Boron Missile.
Cren Munitions “Sleeper” Harpoons (SH):
These look like standard Cren Munitions Advanced Concussion Missiles and travel at the same speed as them. However their payload is quite different than that of a normal missile. They are equipped with a super powered plasma torch on the front, which will fire into a ships hull, damaging it before the missile impacts, punching through the weakened armour and ending up with its “nose” inside the corridor or room (wherever it hits). The nose will then explode releasing an extremely powerful knockout gas named “Sleeper Agent 05” which will nock out any and all known species in a matter of seconds (3 seconds for average human). Sleeper Agent 05 will also spread throughout the ship in the immediate area. However it is ineffective against shields and will generally be used after the shields have been brought down but just prior to a boarding.
Cren Munitions Sonic Missiles (SM):
These are quite similar to standard Cren Munitions Advanced Concussion Missiles, although they travel at a slightly slower speed than them, instead traveling at the speed of a normal concussion missile. Their payload is different than that of a normal missile. They are equipped with a sonic warhead, which is unaffected by ray or particle shields and is quite effective against the hull of a vessel. The missile travels forward and impacts on the ships particle shield, causing a little damage, but not too much. However the sonic warhead than explodes, creating blast wave that travels, unimpeded by the shields, to impact on a ships hull, causing severe damage. While the Cren Munitions scientists originally wanted to have the missiles given diamond boron plating, it was deemed to expensive and costly, so that idea was dropped, at least for now (OOC: plus that just wouldn’t be fair).
Cren Muntions Thermal Detonator Drop Chute: This is a tube on the bottom of the craft which projects Class A Thermal Detonators (or any grenade of a similar size) "down" onto the target below it. This allows it to be used in space against enemy capital ships. It is capable of carrying 60 Thermal Detonators and can release up to 20 on a normal bombing run.
Description:
The Galactic Coalition Research and Development, Starfighter Department designed the Sabre Assault Bomber (SAB) in association with numerous companies, including Second Wave Technologies, ComTech, Cren Sensors and Munitions, Mon Quarren Shipworks, Aqualish Shielding Systems and Anoat Engines. Emanon Computing also provided lots of help in this project, constructing most of the computers used in this starfighter. This participation from numerous companies allows each to lend their specific expertise to the project, meaning that the end product is the best that the Coalition could offer its pilots.
The SAB has long been in the making, ever since General Gordon Fren identified numerous flaws with the SAB/SSF design after a training program over Tynna. It was designed as strictly a bomber to be used against large targets. It is designed to dish out a punishment and yet be capable of going speeds unheard of for a bomber of this size. In turn it sacrifices shield power, having only low-level shields typical for a freighter, not a military vessel. However it also sports the pulse shields, which can be turned on at key moments (such as when the SAB is on the initial attack run on an enemy ship) to give it an extremely powerful, although short-lived until it is recharged, defence.
After numerous prototypes and years spent designing and perfecting the SAB, plus adding on the latest technologies available, such as the Pulse Shielding, the SAB is ready to enter the modern day battlefield.
