Project Necrois
*Note- This is more of a compliation of an RP deice that th Union has already been employing. I'm not even sure if it should be an R&D or not- its more of a guide. Still, I have been wrong in the past.*
Description:
A necrotrooper is nothing more than a sentient being (usually human) whose brain has been in effect lobotomized and severely augmented with cybernetic implants. These implants are placed directly in the brain, and crush the subject's free will, making them utterly obedient and blindly loyal to the Union. The extensive implants leave necrotrooper devoid of all emotions and incapable of feeling pain. This conquest of pain is one of the greatest advantages of the necrotrooper, as they can continue to fight even when afflicted with grievous wounds. A necrotrooper is nothing more than a shell of flesh, a human husk, willing to give itself and its body to whatever cause to which it is directed. Once programmed, necrotroopers stop for only two reasons: they are reprogrammed, or they are rendered physically incapable of carrying out the task.
Production:
The initial production phase of Project Necros began with a mass abduction of the population from the farming world of Grix. The occupants of Grix along with a large numbers of slaves purchased from Outer Rim slavers make up the initial batches (first generation) of necrotroopers. However, it was quickly made apparent that a more efficient method would be needed if the project was to grow. Mengax decided that cloning was the only option that made any sense, and the Union turned its attention to acquiring cloning cylinders . Following extensive operations and cover-ups, the cloning tubes were installed into a portion of an immense underground facility on the Forge known as the Morgue. With the Morgue now at full working capacity, the Union now can produce necrotroopers en masse very quickly, utilizing slaves as base material for the cloning facilities. The Union bypasses the worries of clone madness caused by accelerated growth because the cybernetic implants leave the minds of the necrotroopers so warped that it has no place to form.
Storage and Support:
Limitations on raw materials, as well as weapons, ammo and combat suits, the Union has established massive cryogenic storage facilities to hold inactive Necrotroopers. Food and waste are dealt with through access tubes surgically installed into all necrotroopers during conversion and found on their combat suits. This permits little downtime for active necrotroopers as they are fed synthetic protein directly into their stomachs and waste is just as easily removed via another tube that plugs into a port installed in their bowels. This also means a Necrotrooper never leaves the confines of their combat suits.
Equipment:
Necrotroopers are equipped with a vacuum-sealed combat suit, made from synthetic blaster resistant fibers. Although they can handle a variety of weapons, standard issue for a necrotrooper is a high-powered flechette rifle and a number of fragmentation grenades, which they have been known to detonate while still attached to their belts. Many necrotroopers also carry a hand-held vibroknife for close range fighting.
Units Variations:
Mark One - Standard infantry and manual labor, mark one necrotroopers function with intellect slightly less than that of a conscript stormtrooper, however they function much more effectively if controlled or "programmed" in some fashion. Mark One units can be produced within a single day.
Mark Two - More self-sufficient, Mark Two units serve as the pilots and ship crews of Union vessels not being run by one of their puppet organizations. These units take several days to manufacture.
Mark Three - The highest caliber of Necrotrooper, equipped with the most effective and least invasive implants, mark threes are capable of acting totally autonomously devoid of any programming. Mark Three units carry out the most sophisticated work, serving as officers and operating the Union's immense manufacturing facilities on the Forge. Mark Three Units require about one month to produce a batch.
