Perfect Soilder: Dominion
Overview:
Shortly after the merger of the Daemun Overmind with the Nexus of Cree'Ar technology, a reassesment of current Daemun technological standard was put into effect. Consequently, some technologies and certain implementations of their use were put into question, and with the assertion of combined efforts of all known areas of technological and biologicial research in hand it was that the Perfect Soilder that would be the first to recieve the new sweeping change of technological reform.
The Dominion Soilder is a new, higher standard in the feild of personal combat that the Imperium nor the old Dominion could neither have produced on their own. From inception of the project, Daemun husks have been put through many trails and tests in order to combine Cree'ar technologies with the already heavily outfited Perfect Soilder. At first the intent was to outfit a soilder whos capabilities were suitable for any feild of combat. This line of thought rapidly changed to one of making a soilder capable of actually adapting, not only to any combat enviroment but adapting the combat enviroment to itself. With this in mind, the ultimate shock troopers have been created, designed to be formed on site to supress hostile forces inside Dominion space.
Appearance:
Taking on the typical bipedial humanoid form was more a convienence in initial stages than it was planed. The number of pre-existing Daemun husks made the logistics of its form prescripted into the project, though subtile manipulations were made by cree'ar architects in order to slightly improve on certain points which might be lacking, an example of this may be found in the foot. Where the original had the average human foot, the Dominion has been replaced with a dual omnidirectional set of extended toes more capable of finding their way into rough terrain, gain solid footing and if need be be used as a weapon.
Most of the Dominion soilders body may appear to be covered in a heavy armor of sorts; this is actually a misnomer, resembling a glossy, form-fitting body suit, the Skin of this husk has inherent built in properties. In the skin are assembled small power cells, similar to those in the blood of every Daemun citizen, that create an electric field around the wearer, absorbing energy from blasters and other energy weapons and dispersing it away from the wearer. Internally the husk mounts a personal shielding device of a more direct nature. The shield is not powerful enough to last for long periods of time and thus is designed in a manner as to activate on detection of an active energy weapon as to save full power as neccesary. As well, when the generator itself overheats, it will begin an immediate cooldown cycle as to never overheat, this cycle can be bypassed, but can never be done by the soilder itself. These specified portions are inherent in all variations of Soilder, incoporated and assembled by the Neo-phage as it reorders the Dominions body.
The skin itself appears as a pale grey, this is not a planned or intentional creation but the result of the combination of Assemblers and Nexus nano's runing through the body of the soilder. These combined pieces of nano-technology give the soilder more intresting capabilities also more liken to the Daemun citizen or the Cree'ar slave troops than the former Perfect Soilder.
BioMalleable Technology:
While still as structured and versatile as the normal humanoid body, the Neo-Phage used by the soldier allows it certain benefits described herein. Much like the raw Malleable Technology used in certain ships system and the common Malle-Ball of commercial use on former Imperium worlds, BioMalleable Technology works on a similar principal changing the system surrounding it to whatever its user desires when able. BioMalleable Technology works within set restrictions only able to be achieved by the soldier itself, said restrictions being that while Malleable technology need only deal with inanimate objects, BioMalleable technology needs to harness the body of the individual in question in order to supply the changes being made.
As the Neo-Phage travels throughout the body of the Dominion Soldier, it interacts in a body wide level to repair and upgrade its host. Repair is an unconscious function of the Neo-Phage, healing small wounds and regenerating lost tissue by the use of outside elements. Outside elements refers to anything around the soldier that can be absorbed, broken down and then formed into what is needed to repair. An example of this might be where a soldier has found itself surviving a battle sans foot, having had it blown off by a well placed frag blast; the neo-phage could quite easily absorb elements from the ground the soldier walked on to break down and transfer necessary materials through the host body to reconstruct another foot.
An alternative to this situation is upgrade, a conscious procedure done by the soldier. By this process the soldier will actually will the neo-phage inside themselves to whatever ends may be desired or required by the moment. Using the last example of repair, the soldier in question may not have the time to wait for repairs as reinforcements may soon be to arrive. They may slice the foot off an enemy troop and graft it to their own with the neo-phage nexus or consequently use the foot of a humanoid robot. Which brings this to an interesting point, being mostly technological themselves, the Dominion soldier has the capability and design to upgrade itself with various pieces of equipment picked up in the course of battle. (An example is a blaster rifle fused into the arm of a soldier, pictured above)
Neo-Nanophage:
The Nanophage, a boon to life and all that would have born wickedness in the Imperium, a plague of mass devastation. Built and designed for its singular purpose it did its job with unwavering excellence. A new generation of the phage has been developed based upon this excellence, but to a marginally smaller scale, designed to be employed instead not on a planetary scale, but from person to person. In much the way basic assemblers and disassemblers cover the insides of the common Daemun husk from bloodstream to bone structure, the same can be said true for the Neo-phage and the Dominion soldier. In the body of the Dominion soldier the neo-phage serves much the same purpose as project immortality, providing for the sustenance of the body by converting energy into chemical needs, serving to repair and replace needed bodily systems and supplant unnecessary bodily processes such as digestion and waste management.
Unlike the original Nanophage, whose purpose was the conversion of life into fuel for its own reproduction, the Neo-phage has a much more insipid design. The Neo-phage has undergone one major design development, becoming more than an assemblage of bioassemblers and disassemblers but has actually been merged with the Cree'ar Nexus nanotechnology, giving its already versatile nature a direct connection to the extra-galactic capabilities of the Nexus' own ability to convert matter, and more specifically its own already specialized operation in biological conversion. This new aglomation of technology, called the Neo-phage is the basis of the Dominion soldier itself. In the body of every soldier, differing in location per species and body type, is a pair of flexible needle-like devices which extend from beneath the skin to inject any targets bloodstream, or any given technological object, to inject the soldiers own neo-phage into the target. Along with the neo-phage, these injection tubule are coated with a powerful neuroinhibitor, who's purpose is to bring down the targeted creature long enough for the Neo-phage to take effect.
This is when the true purpose of the Neo-phage becomes apparent. As the victim is under the effects of the neuroinhibitor (Or even while still struggling, if having resisted said effects) the neo-phage will immediately spread throughout the body in a manner which rivals the most virulent diseases. The Neo=phage does not destroy the body of the victim, but rather converts and restructures it to a pre specified design. Upon entry into the body the neo-phage will instantly begin conversion of the area of injection making its way through any cardiovascular system and nervous system it comes across making a trail to all higher level bodily functions. Brains are quickly rewired to be the same as all Dominion soldiers, the central will of the Nexus supplanting the free will of the being being converted, as their bodies are just as rapidly converted into an appearance similar to all Dominion troops. Where the victim lacks proper materials of themselves a process similar to that of repair comes into play, where the body will absorb nearby elements to continue operation. It should be noted that the state of the victim is not important to the process, the dead are just as susceptible to the process as the living. The process of replacing organs with the more artificial replacements of the Dominion soldier, mixed with the complete reworking of the nervous system has the basic effect of creating new life from the dead husk.
As noted above, the Neo-phage can be injected into technological devices in much the same way the nexus is used aboard Cree'ar ships to infest enemy vessels. By this effect the soldier is able to interact with computer systems or information stores on a more intimate level, if not convert it to Dominion use all together. It is by this method that upgrades to the Dominion soldiers body are done when foreign technology is merged to it as well.
