Hull Composition: The SCS is designed to be a Heavy Carrier/Cruiser that is able to deploy fighters and then fight as a regular cruiser, after a fight is over it must be able to recover it’s fighters and make the jump to hyperspace. As such the SCS has been designed with an extremely strong internal hull composition so as to keep the ship intact during battles as well as hyperspace jumps. The hull however is also flexible enough so the SCS is able to undergo the stress of high-speed maneuvers near large gravity sources.

Armor Composition: The SCS is designed to have the strongest armor available short of the nearly impenetrable molecularly bonded armor of the Stars End Prison Facility in the Corporate Sector. While molecularly bonded armor was considered it was decided by the Joint Chiefs of Staff that it would be much too expensive for regular application to large capital starships such as the SCS. However using many non-standard combinations of cheaper more readily available materials the SCS is able to be provided with some of the finest armor available in the galaxy.

Special Capabilities/Notes:

Shield Energy Examiners

A new design of sensor to be used onboard the Stryker the Shield Energy Examiners minutely examine the shield strength and power output. It is supposed to discover the weakpoints in the shield projected by the enemy ships. These locations are then fed to the weapon banks which can target them thus exploiting the shield's weakness.

Weapons

The Stryker is equipped with 20 Shrapnel launchers for Anti-Missile Defence Duty. Each of these launchers launch a missile that is designed to detonate when it is near an incoming missile. The shrapnel in the missile is propelled outwards over an cone around 10 m wide and 10 m long.

Shields

The SCS has been outfitted with new SS Mk VII Omni directional Ray Deflector Shield Generators and SS Mk IX Omni directional Partical Shield Generators. Aided the spherical shape of the SCS these Shield Generators are capable of projecting the SCS’s shields only a few meters away from the hull this eliminates the chance of an enemy craft being under the Stryker’s shields and firing on it’s undefended hull.

Each and every weapon onboard the SCS has been outfitted with a dedicated Ion Shield Generators. This way even if the main Ion Shielding aboard the Stryker has been knocked out the Stryker’s weapons as well as their individual power generators are still able to fire until the enemy knocks out every individual shield generator onboard the Stryker which would take quite some time.

The Security Systems

The Stryker has some of the most comprehensive security systems to be found on a large starship anywhere in the galaxy. The backbone behind this security system is the Mantraps which are basically reverse repulsorlifts and can trap somebody on the ground with power the equivalent of 10 Gs. Once the boarders are unable to resist Laser Traps come out from behind hidden panels and can stun or kill the boarders. The Man Traps are then turned off and the boarders are collected by Sovereignty Security Troops.

Auxiliary Bridge

It has come to the attention of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that enemy gunners seem to be concentrating their fire on the bridge of enemy ships hoping to disable them. As a result the Stryker is to be outfitted with an auxiliary bridge that will maintain full command and control capabilities as well as a full command staff at all times. This bridge however does not have any view ports because it is located inside the Stryker for better defense against enemy attacks and to reduce any attacks against it to lucky hits.

Computer/system Control

To increase efficiency in combat as well as to allow the SCS to continue to fight even after it’s sustained a lot of damage the SCS is fitted with 2 Borstel Nova NI- 700 Computers as well as 1 Borstel Leopard Z-50 Computer for backup computer control. All of the computers are heavily protected by Ion shielding so they can continue to function even after repeated ion strikes. These computers co-ordinate the functions of all the computers and systems aboard the SCS. It has been proven that the SCS is capable of continuing a fight even if it’s entire crew is dead.

Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer (HIMS)

The Stryker is one of only two ships to have been designed from the ground up with the goal of integrating the Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer or HIMS, the other ship was the famed Bakura-class Star Destroyer. The Stryker is equipped with 25 replaceable Static Hyperwave Bubble Generators that allow it to continue through Interdiction fields. However the Stryker would not use all 25 of these Hyperwave Bubble Generators. It is projected that you would need over a million Interdictor Cruisers to require the Stryker to use all 25 generators, since there hasn’t even been that many Interdictor Cruiser’s built in the history of the galaxy it is unlikely that the Stryker will ever require to use all of it’s generators.

Stryker R&D Time: 30 days 12/01

Name/Designation: E-78 Swarm Fighter

Length: 3m

Height: 3m

Width: 3m

Shields: 40 SBD

Hull: 2 RU

Speed: 200 MGLT

Manoeuvrability: 215 DPF

Weapons: 1 Micro-Concussion Missile Launcher(12)
1 Light Blaster Cannon

Micro-Concussion Missile Launcher Stats:

The SS Micro-Concussion Missile Launcher fires mini-concussion missiles which are much faster than standard Arakyd Concussion missiles but with less power and no armour-piercing warheads. They are most useful against un-shielded opponents

Speed:300 MGLT

Commentary:

The E-78 is designed to be a swarm superiority fighter that is capable of destroying all other swarm fighters and also be a threat to larger Space Superiority Fighters like the TIE Interceptor and the X-Wing. Sovereignty Shipworks R&D considered a number of options for how to control the fighter but they decided to follow in the footsteps of other swarm fighters like the TIE Devil and to use a direct Simulator-Fighter Hookup. The simulator is based on the standard X-Wing simulator however there is no inertial compensators to apply the feelings of high-g manoeuvres because the E-78 is capable of performing manoeuvres that would kill most human pilots. There are also a few control differences because of a different weapons configuration. The E-78 is equipped with a self-destruct.

If the controller becomes unconnected with the E-78 the E-78 will be taken over by it’s Droid Brain the Cybot Galactica ACE-10 Droid Piloting Brain which is capable of piloting the ship by following pre-programmed default tactics and maneouvers as well as learning to exploit weaknesses in their enemies tactics.

When based onboard a standard capital ship or in ground bases the fighter Capacity is multiplied by 3. While each ship could hold more than 3 E-78s per fighter slot there there wouldn't be enough room for the control unit.
