Aurora Arms Foam-Filled Tires

The tires on the Despot are designed to be puncture-resistant. But in the odd chance that they are punctured the tires are filled with a quick sealing foam which is capable of supporting the weight of the Despot thus not affecting it's performance.

Repulsor Missile Defence System

Attack by starfighter/bombers or airspeeders is always a threat to ground vehicles. While they do have Anti-Aircraft Systems travelling with the Despot there is a chance that these systems could be knocked out thus forcing the Despot to rely on other means. In combination with the Bakura Repulsor Co. which has made hundreds of unique innovations into repulsor manufacture and design over the years especially in the field of miniturization, the Despot Wheeled Carrier will be outfitted with hundreds of tiny repulsor emittors placed across it's dorsal surfaces. These emittors are designed to be switched on by the driver only when missile attack is emminent because the increased power drain from the repulsors reduces the Despot's max speed to 60 km/h. The repulsors repell the missiles or grenades that are dropped/launched at the Despot. It has proven effective of decreasing the effectiveness of missile attacks by nearly 70%. The damage suffered is due to shockwaves from impacts not the actual impacts themselves.

Commentary:

The Despot Wheeled Carrier is designed to complement the strengths and weaknesses of a mechanized infantry division in the Sovereignty Army. Currently such divisions rely on larger slower carriers such as the AT-AT walker. While the Carrier is not meant to phase out the AT-AT it is meant to address several concerns voiced by high-ranking army officials about the lack of fast, armoured personel carrier.
