Hyperdrive: Low. Navsat microjump 3 Hypredrive Utilizing the microjump feature of the Navsat system is the main strength of the Mastirr Picket. The constant microjump tactic serves to confuses sensors and enemy sensor operators, as well as making the vessel very difficult to track with weapons.
Speed: Fast. The modular design of the Mastirr's design requires the Engines to be moved out of the main hull and into external Nacelle's. Each of these two Nacelles house a Hypermatter Annihilator Reactors and 2 main Ionic Thrusters. A crew of three engineers constantly monitors each reactor maintaining constant readiness and repair. The four main drives propel the Mastirr at an average 24 Megalights, but can work at near overload conditions for a short period of time giving the vessel a top Flanking speed of 36 Megalights.
Maneuverability: Medium. Twenty Thruster Banks line the hull and help the Mastirr maneuver. While not as maneuverable as smaller fighters and gunboats the Mastirr boasts maneuverability equal to many vessels of its class. Having a standard Differential pressure feedback of 8 the Mastirr can outmaneuver many targeting trackers and sensors while preparing for microjumps.
Onboard Craft: medium. On the dorsal bottom of each Nacelle two Krissii Heavy Fighters (total of 4) can be Attached to external mounts and secured for long trips. While on-board the crew of the fighters act as assistants to the gunners and engineers.
Armor: Medium. Wrapped in a cellulose tritanium alloy the armor of the Mastirr is light and durable. Offering standard resistance units of 520. The protection given by the armor assist in the operational life of the vessel.
Shields: High. Four LD-100 Shield generators offer the same multi-shield operation as the Krissi Fighter. At general settings, two of the generators are used to provide the vessel with a constant 600 SBD Diffusion Rate.
Also equipped were two LD-K100 Particle Shield Generators for anti-projectile/space particle protection.
Weapons: Medium to High depending on Mission The main hull of the Mastirr houses a twin Heavy Mazer just below the Prow of the vessel. A second Hypermatter Reactor is housed just aft of the emplacement to power the ships extensive weapons, scanners, and countermeasure systems as well as life support and general power needs. This third reactor maintain the power for all systems outside the drive and maneuvering systems. This allows the vessel to maintain a constant speed and maneuverability no mater the drain of the shields and weapons. In addition to the twin heavy Mazers four double mazer turrets are mounted just aft of the command section. two turrets on the dorsal hull and two on the ventral Hull. Also Four double Charric cannon turrets are mounted for small ship and fighter protection. Also mounted on the forward hull are four Missile tubes each with 4 concussion missiles and four charge net missiles. IN addition a Missile Mission pod can be added increasing the number of missile tubes to twelve.
Sensors: High An advanced sensor package has been added to the newest classes of pickets which allow them to use Navsat satellites to target enemy craft. This allows the Picket to engage enemy vessels from safety behind asteroids or larger ships. The ability to fire indirectly has drastically increased the survivability of Chiss crews.
Countermeasures: Medium. Standard Chiss countermeasure pods are located on the aft section of the ship. This consists of 8 drones, 4 flare throwers, and 6 Chaff pods.
Support: Medium. A small group of Chiss marines are always stationed onboard for defensive needs. When a mission calls for more the aft section can be set as a Troop support Shuttle holding up to 300 marines for rapid deployment. This same aft section can be refitted in just a few hours to house 30 guests in comfort. The aft hull is generally open and empty when a diplomatic or assault missions not set. Up to 20,000 tons of cargo can be carried in this hold when not in use.
Development History: The Picket is the mainstay of The Chiss. While other larger ships classes exist they are reserved for defensive missions generally. The fast confusing tactics used by the Picket make it a formidable enemy to even destroyer class ships. These vessels work in packs or groups of three to twenty four depending on the mission. With the addition of mission pods the service role of the pickets are unendable. Pods ranging from Missile pods to Breaching pods for ship take over the Picket Mission pod system has been very successful in the later classes of picket.
