<li>This is a ship designed with only one purpose in mind: destroy all opposition. It is a battle cruiser depending on support and will not be allowed to so much as drift without escort. I've designed it to such a degree that it can fly into enemy held positions and begin wreacking havoc, provided it has the appropriate fighter and cruiser cover.

<li>As one can see, I did not exactly make a craft that can easily take a beating. It's very fast for its size, modeling the engines and propulsion off of a Carrack Cruiser, but very lightly shielded and armored. We had to take out an entire section we were originally going to use for weapons across the top of the craft to replace with shields and then we had to strip down some more in order to fill in the heavy durasteel that Commander Orvalies requested. In hindsight I don't regret the decision in any way, the thing was a paper tank basically. We've made it now able to withstand blasts, but it's not there to stand in as our weapon sponge. That will be reserved for the Cuirass. This craft's entire focus is based entirely upon dropping enemy ships with brutal efficiency, the basic outline modeled after the Imperial Missile Boat - of which we have just recently received blueprints of. It was an astounding piece of technology, but with the problems the Empire had with keeping it a secret or safe for that matter I can see why it was hidden away for so long. We wanted to capture that raw power in a capital class cruiser, to bring a realistic punch onto the battlefield.

<li>What can I say? This isn't a scout ship either. Again it's a warship with no other idea in mind than to crush the enemy. With advanced targetting units in the "bridge" however it is more than capable of annhilating pin-point targets with accuracy - which will be needed in the instance of enemy fighter attacks. The ship can't hold its own against marauding lasers, but it can certainly punch down incoming fighters before they get a chance to shoot, which is what it was pretty much built around defensively. As swift as it is at moving though through initial testings and practice runs, it's been said that she turns like a hog and it may be easier to simply put thrusters on the bottom and let it try to barrel roll where it wants to go. The idea does have some form of merit, but is simply too costly for the current war going on as we speak. We need something that can go out there today if need be and crush Serasian forces. The sensors are your average run of the mill sensor arrays with a few tweaks - like imputting various controls similar to those we put into our X-Wings - in order to make the weapons systems that much more accurate. Personally I'm pleased so far with the proposition.

Overview

Combat Analysis

As was stated in earlier reports by head military officials, this is a new class of battleship modeled afte the Imperial Missile Boat, produced at the end of the Galactic Civil War in order to combat marauding Rebel fleets. Now, with adapted technology, the Kiyarans are attempted to rebuild their own fleet with the Dai Katana, a cruiser to supplement Barbute Carrier Groups and drop enemy ships with haste.

It is armed to the teeth to fulfill this purpose. The bridge is at the fore, similarly to a starfighter and is controlled by a pair of pilots who are assisted by six co-pilots. Throughout the rest of the ship the crew handles their average duties - targetting, communications and the like.

A large section of the ship - as is seen just between the "neck" and the swiveling anti-fighter turret - has had all weaponary removed so that it can work as an interior station for upholding the limited shields this craft posesses. The crew then can from the inside maintain the composition of their deflector shields.

With three sets of gunners, a large portion of the ship was hollowed out to make way for their bunking areas, which are relatively cramped. An officer's quarter serves as a makeshift office seperated by cubicles for the six pilots.

The ship is commanded at all times by a captain or higher, who will fly the craft itself. In a time of emergency all weapons can be turned to the pilots' controls, or can be automated for droid fire.

The four "wingtip" cannons are placed to extrude from an enormous cooling and recharge unit, which allows the cannons to fire far faster than normal. However should they keep up an accelerated rate of fire then the coolants cannot take place for the tri-turrets below, and with thus will lower the overall rate of fire, or at least screen of fire.

The missile racks have a magazine of six rockets that can be fired IFF or with target lock. They can be fired six at a time or in sync with one another, or even in clusters of two, three, or four. The rocket launchers reload themselves through an automated droid brain, though can be reloaded manually from the cockpit. Each rack carries three magazines.
