developed and manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, this huge grid-like space station was created to provide the Empire with a facility to build and repair the huge starships of the Imperial Navy. The Type-II yard had a cubic arrangement which was heavily armed and shielded but otherwise unarmed. The Type-II yard measured 1,200 meters across, and had nine tractor beam projectors which allowed it to maneuver disabled ships into berths. Each yard had a crew of 4,114, with room for 200 troops to disembark during repairs. Type_ii yards also were equipped with a Class-4 hyperdrive system, which allowed the yard to make small jumps in order to ensure geosynchronous orbit and evade an attacking fleet, although the jump had to be well-orchestrated or the station could be severely damaged.
