Description: The Defel Combat scout speeder is created to be the eyes and even ears of a combat force. These speeders are designed to move ahead of advancing or any force for that matter and scout out enemy locations. Their slopping and curved sides make them less detectable on sensors. The Defel's armor is designed to absorb most of the sensor emissions thrown at it by using polymer threads braided together with spun Nutorium threads to create a polymer Nutorium mix. These speeders are also painted with non-reflective paints that help prevent light from glaring off the hull or viewports and giving away the speeder's location.

The Defel was created as a two person recon speeder with a dedicated pilot and sensor operator. The sensor operator could also control the single laser turret that is mounted at the top of the speeder. This turret is usually held retracted within the hull to preserve the stealthy profile.

The nose of the Defel contains a rounded sensor housing which can rotate 360 degrees and has an all weather sensor system. This dome detects electronic emissions as well as thermal and IR. Featured inside the dome housing is also a large holo cam which has incredible zoom capability and could send video back to headquarters.

However, most of the time, the Defel scout stays perfectly hidden and far from enemy lines. To increase its survival as well as increase its information gathering ability, the speeder was build with a rear micro drone deployment space. These drones have been specially designed to work with this system as well as others. They have the ability to launch from the rear of the Defel and use fast repulsor lifts to scout far ahead and relay any information found.

These drones are designed with stealth in mind and their minuscule size helps in their department as does their sensor absorbing covering which was created from the same polymer Nutorium mix as the Defel itself. However, the drones body has a much high percentage of Nutorium threads. It is also coated in nonreflective paint and has extremly sophisticated sensors on board. These sensors scan all transmissions within their area and try to trace them back their source. This sensor package also gives them the ability to see in all weathers and conditions and zoom in heavily on units. Motion sensors as well as audio and visual ones have also been built into the drone, allowing it to hear what is being said in relatively close proximity. These audio sensors are much better at picking up sounds than any pair of ears and had specialized filters that could filter out background noise to listen to individuals clearly.

The drones software, along with everything else, includes lip reading recognition and also olfaction detection. The Drone is able to sniff about at smallest amount of gas or smell in the air and compare it to its records of this area. If the chemicals are found to be foreign, it could mean there are enemy in the area or at least something that wasn't there before. In addition the drone has been built with laser data links that could transmit its findings through even the heaviest jamming conditions and these data links double as laser designators for ordinance delivery.

Lastly, the drones underbody has within it a set of three concealed legs which could be used to set the drone down on a branch of piece of ground. From here the drone could sit quietly and observe enemy movements and actions. If know friendly forces are which range to receive its laser updates, the drones is built to automatically move away from the enemy location and make contact with any friendly units to transmit its data.

All these technologies along with fast speed make the Defel a great advantage to have when a battle arises or as a scout vehicle for recon in hostile territory. These speeders could be used with special operations units on far away missions since they are small and could be carried on board shuttles and drops planet side in special descent containers.
