Coalition R&D
I know that giving too much detail is frowned upon. But I already wrote in all the shit and there is no way I am rewriting. So there. There is really nothing new that isn't already implemented on all my other ships.

Vessel/Unit Identification: Crusader-class Modular Battleship

Vessel/Unit Combat Designation: All-purpose attack/support vessel

Length : 1150 Meters

Designer/Manufactuer: Sanctuary StarDrive

Crew Complement

100-500 Officers
1,570 Enlisted Crew

Weapons

Mission profile differs greatly. The ship can be turned into an Ion-cannon ship, a heavy assault ship, or a missile cruiser. Weapons profile differs for each variation.

100 Turbolaser/Ion/Missile,Pinpoint Laser/ Partical Projector/Tractor Emplacements (Either or both, depending on the mission profile)

For Anti-Missile duty, pinpoint lasers, and gattling blisters replace all or some heavier cannons.

Anti-fighter duty: Pinpoint laser cannons replace all, or some heavy cannons.

Propulsion Systems

- 3 Sanctuary StarDrive mk.II Emissionless Ion Engines (Main Engines)
- 2 Sanctuary StarDrivemk I Ion Engines (For emergency use)

1 (Main) SSD HEN2 Hyperdrive Engine (Class 1)
1 (Backup) SSD HEN1 Hyperdrive Engine (Class 9)

Sublight Speed: 20 MGLT MGLT(Standard)
Atmospheric Speed: 1500 KPH

Internal Vessel/Unit Complement

If the mission warrants it, the ship can be turned into a carrier.
Under normal circumstances (ship outfitted with weapons emplacements), only two Squadrons of fighters may be carried. If turned into Carrier Profile, up to eight Squadrons and support ships can be carried. This of course sacrifices space for weapons emplacements, and only a small number of turbolasers and pinpoint laser cannons can be added to the vessel for starfighter suppor.

Hull Composition

Titanium Reinforced Alusteel Hull. The heavily shielded, carbonite and durasteel-reinforced dome holds and protects the main reactor. And both the Armek-M38 Heavy Pulse Turbolaser Cannons are protected by 1 Metre of Quadanium Steel Hull Plating each.

Reflective Hull Armor Plating –

Almost like a mirror, the reflective hull armor plating is designed to reflect the starscape while providing added protection against enemy weapons fire. It is a type of molecularly bonded armor that is strengthened at the subatomic level, and coated with blaster-laser resistant coating. Even after shield loss, the armor was designed for extra defense.

Hull: 3100 RU

Shield Systems -

- 2 Hoerch/Kessel Drive Yards Type One Particle/Energy Shield generators
- 1 Sovereignty Shipworks SGT-6 Shield Generators (Used as reserve only)

Shields: 5700 SBD(Standard / 5000 backup

Anti-Intruder System

Checkpoints every twenty-five meters throughout all Commonwealth ships has been implemented, with blast doors at each checkpoint. Also at every checkpoint are force locks (strong force fields) that will automatically engage to block a person who does not have the proper clearance to that portion of the ship. At every checkpoint (which are manned by a security droid) are clearance checks – which are done by voice recognition, or ID cards. Access to the bridge is extremely limited, and only the on-duty officers and crewmen are allowed entry. Persons wishing to enter the bridge must undergo a molecular scan and a retinal scan – those who do not have clearance are barred from entry by force locks and blast doors. Admittance to the bridge is only permitted if somebody on the inside of the bridge allows it. Also lining the checkpoints are the mark four guardian grids. These grids are outfitted with laser cannons that track known hostiles and eliminate them. The grids only come online when someone tries to gain access through the checkpoint without clearance.

The anti-intruder system is also designed to penetrate fingerprints to locate forgeries and fakes. The fingerprint scanners have been upgraded to spot fake fingerprints – such as the known fingerprint copying device. The scanner also checks for life signs with in the person. It will not accept clearance from anyone without a pulse of some kind.

Particle Projectors

The Particle Projectors (or PPs) use magnetic rollers to launch balls of superheated matter at incredible speed. The balls are small, so many may be stored in a single ship, and once they overcome the magnetic force holding them together by either the passage of time or a collision with an enemy ship, they tear themselves apart with incredible ferocity, likely shredding the delicate innards of a struck vessel.

The downside to these guns are their short range. Although they have incredible stopping power, and proved in tests to be quite capable of tearing through an enemy fighter, it is not long after firing that the force of the matter pushing away from each other overcomes the magnetic forces propelling them along. It is this principle that makes the shots so deadly even after they've smashed into an enemy ship, but also gives them a relatively short combat range.

It will be noted that if the mission profile requires Particle Projectors, the number of them would obviously not be 70. A lower number of 20 could be included.

Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer

Abbreviated HIMS, this device was developed on Bakura. In its simplest form, this is a specially-built hyperspace coil which shuts itself on and off. When the device detects an interdiction field or other false mass-line in hyperspace, it cuts the hyperdrive off, dropping the ship out of hyperspace. Immediately, a static hyperwave bubble generator in-line with the HIMS ignites, surrounding the ship with a hyperspace bubble. The bubble does not provide thrust, just a way of passing through the interdiction field. Thus, the ship coasts inside the bubble until it can no longer sustain istelf. When the bubble fails, the hyperspace comes on long enough to register the existence of the interdiction field, then trips again. If enough hyperspace buble generators are linked to the hyperspace coil, the ship can drift deep into the interdiction field, popping bubbles as it goes. The ship will appear to flicker in and out of hyperspace. The momentum of the ship will slowly diminish until it cannot jump back to hyperspace. At this time, the HIMS can be shut down, and sublight engines must be used

Retractable Weapons Cannons –

All weapons (except the pulse turbolasers) on board have been upgraded and are now retractable. The weapon extends a meter or so (depending on the weapon) out of the ship, fires, retracts, recharges, and fires again. New easy-slide rails compensate for the obvious reduction in time to fire twice. When compared to weapons already mounted on the hulls, the retractable weapons were found to be just as easy to recharge and fire as the standard weapons.

Sanctuary StarDrive mk.II Emission less Ion Engines –

All Commonwealth ships use upgraded and enhanced engines developed by Sanctuary StarDrive. Exhaust from the ship is carried by tubes mounted inside the hull to vents all over the ship. The exhaust is vented methodically, and is dispersed with enough force for the ion exhaust to spread over a wide area – mingling with space particles and then dissolving. This allows the Bird to move without a trace. To compensate for any circumstance, the vents that release the exhaust gasses can be closed. In this event, the gasses can be stored, where it is processed for later venting.

Auxiliary Bridge

“War breeds necessity.”

This could not be more truthful. In recent events it has been observed that the need for a second bridge has become apparent. The auxiliary bridge is smaller then the main bridge, but it has all the necessary components that it’s larger companion carries. The bridge is activated in two ways –

One, in the event of total systems failure on the main bridge, the second bridge can be activated.
Two, if the first bridge is destroyed somehow, the second one comes online.

The same security measures applied to the main bridge also are implemented on the auxiliary bridge – with blast doors, fingerprint scanners, and force locks. In the event of the bridge crew being killed, trained crewmembers have been instructed in how to operate the ship.

Emanon Computing Advanced Targeting Computer

This is one of the most advanced targeting computer systems used in the Galactic Coalition. It has different varieties, so that each type of weapon (anti-starfighter, missile, anti-capital ship) has its own specialized targeting computers. These are capable of locating the weakest spot in an enemy’s shields, and then do pinpoint attacks on it. As well, the gunner can select a target, say a certain spot on the hull, or a weapons emplacement, and the weapon will immediately fire directly on it. This allows for extremely accurate and effective missile volleys and heavy beam weapon volleys.

Furthermore the gunner is capable of using visual sensors to select a spot on the ship to target. This allows the weapons to target enemy ships, even if targeting computers are being jammed. Also the computer has a direct hook-up with the Graviton Detector mk. I onboard the vessel and is capable of receiving information directly from that, allowing the co-ordinates where a ship is located to be put in the computer. The gunners can manually insert co-ordinates to be targeted in the computer if needed, though this would probably be a final resort tactic.

Each weapon has its own Emanon Computing Advanced Targeting Computer, however they can easily be tied together in groups. For extra efficiency and power these targeting computers can be grouped together, so that multiple guns are going for the exact same spot on a ship. This would overload an enemy ship’s shields, allowing a large amount of energy to go on and strike the hull. If the shots are correctly aimed that it would even be possible to destroy the enemy’s main weapons.

Security Force

Trained to provide maximum security onboard All Onyxian Ships. These are specially modified assassin droids who have been programmed with anti-Force user techniques. They are directly tied in with the Bird of Prey main computer and are instantly alerted to any intruders. They are programmed to seek out and destroy known intruders. They take no prisoners and do not respond to negotiation. They have one objective: protect the vessel at all costs.

Pulse Shielding

Pulse Shielding is a new, innovative technology. Instead of the conventional energy shield, it launches brief but rapid blasts of a pure, energy-rich magnetic force. The force is a nigh-perfect reflector of energy and redirects almost all solid masses that would be hurled at it (in the form of missiles, bullets, rocks, ape droppings, etc). However, to do this, pulse shielding requires massive amounts of power, and the batteries for it cannot keep going for more then three seconds at once, although there is enough energy in total to last about a minute if breaks are given in between uses. This allows the ship to protect itself at the last minute from an otherwise fatal shot.

Advanced Power Grid System –

To increase efficiency and tighten security measures, a new power generator has been installed on all new and upgraded vessels. Unlike normal generators, which are located at a single point, the new generator has been designed much like a human nervous system. It is made up of individual powerpacks that are located throughout the ship. The system ties into all ship systems, giving them power. This is a much more efficient design then the normal power core. This way the power core is the entire ship. Each powerpack is also designed to operate at full capacity if another pack is damaged or destroyed. This eliminates the option of sabotage of the Bird’s nervous system.

Advanced Power Distribution System -

The Crusader has the capability to reroute power from various systems to other systems as is necessary in combat. For example power could be rerouted from the weapons systems to help increase the shield power or the speed of the Crusader. Virtually every system on the Crusader is capable of using more power than it is normally allocated.

Elite Anti-Missile Defense System

Diversity Composite Hull -

(Due to the many races that make up the Galactic Coalition (and the New Republic of years past), the Research and Development Department investigated the various technological endeavors of the many cultures only to discover that a certain derivative of a plant sap (now classified) breaks absorbs the energy from an ion weapon. The effect of adding this derivative between alloys (hull and blisters) allows for not only protecting a vessel from ion weaponry but render boarding craft or other boarding means via contact inoperable as the ions are discharged at the area of each breach (sectional). The code name for this derivative is the Diversity Composite and is classified.)

ATS: Anti-Targeting System

The Anti-targeting system is designed to cast a field 100 km out to disrupt any signals being sent to gather computerized target locks. Typically, targeting computers derive their object targets based on data gathered in concert with standard ship's sensor package or independent signal casting device. The field of ATS disrupts those incoming signals by offsetting/reflecting the data back to it's origin. The result being wrong targeting data being received (the farther away the more off track) which would result is less positive (or less critical) strikes.

General Background:

The Commonwealth's fleet was recently reviewed and it was noted that the fleet was still using old and outdated vessels, such as the Bakura-class Destroyer and in some cases, a Mk 1 ImpStar. Changes have recently been made and more funds have been allocated to replace older and existing ships with new and advanced ones. But instead of designing several new ships, it was consolidated into one single, highly modifiable design.

Although requiring a dry dock and full shipyard facilities to switch from one mission profile to another, the Crusader's potential is almost completely limitless. If the situation requires a scout vessel, for example, the Crusader would be outfitted with extra engines to increase it's speed.

However, due to each mission profile's varying requirements, the ship would sacrifice one thing for another. If it's a carrier, it would sacrifice weapons for more hangar space, if troop carrier, the same situation.

The ship's mission profile can be merged with another, for example 50 Ion cannons and 50 Turbolaser cannons. But it cannot and will not exceed the set amount.
