Name: Eden Full Body Medicinal Cleansing Treatment

Description: The Eden treatment was a direct result of a multiple year study by top researchers at the Falleen College of Arts and Sciences in multiple fields. No stranger to the terrible effects of disease and biological agents, the project was orginal desinged in an attempt to prevent the kind of disaster that occured during the Imperial control of the planet, when a deadly bioweapon leaked, resulting in the 'sterilization' of the infected area, by orbital bombardment. Difficulties in a one for all treatment immediatly occured, and persist even with the unveiling of the new treatment, however, the Eden is a extremly effective measure that will hopefuly save countless lives.
The Eden treatment is a multi-step program desinged to cleanse and purify the body of an organism through several methods, mainly focused on boosting the organisms natural immue responses and effectivly targeting the cause of the ailment. In a clinical setting, it is often used in conjunction bacta or another form of specialized, concentrated treatment that focuses specifically on its target. However, on a wider scale, Eden can be used on its own with good results.
The core treatment of Eden is centered around 5 miniature 'droids' measured in size by microns. Tiny, and not droids in the sense known to the majority of the galaxy, they contain only the simplest of programing, enough to preform their appointed task. The five 'bots' are as follows:
*Identifiers
*Decons
*Stimulators
*Inducers
*Absorbers
Each of the bots has its own specific purpose which are as follows.
Identifiers - 1 of the largest of the 5 bot types, Identifiers contain hundreds of synthetic 'antibodies' which were developed to latch onto specific compounds or substances inside of the organism being treated. The type of compound or substance can be programmed into the indentifiers; while the standard setting is abiotic factors if no program is input. Working in tandem with Decons, the identifiers can effectivly deal with many different types of medical problems.
Decons - Keyed to the antibodies put out by identifiers, Decons contain a specialy designed corrisve agent that can be delivered in 2 different ways, depending upon the amount of antibodies ona target. If the number is small, the Decon can release a small quantity on the target and contiue on to others. If a large target (determined by a large number of antibodies) is found, the Decon can ram itself into the target and deliver its entire 'payload' onto the target. The corrosive agent itself is extremely effective at its job, eating through almost any material it touches, but dissolves after about 1.5 seconds after contact to minimize collateral damage to other tissues in the organism.
Stimulators - 1 of the smallest of the bot types, stimulators contain several extremly powerful chemical stimulants, which when released into the bloodstream or other body system 'supercharge' the bodies natural immune defenses, giving them a needed boost to fight extremly deadly pathogens. The stimulant compound has a special chain structure which prevents it from being targeted by indetifiers.
Inducers - Similar to stimulators, inducers differ in the respect that while stimulators spread throughout the body, inducers make their way to the brain and the nervous system. Once there, they releases stimuli (which can vary from electroalysis to simulated hormones- type varies upon patient. Can be set in the same fashion as indetifiers) which triger immune responses, such as increased mucus prodcution, fever, allergic reaction, swelling, reduced/increased blood flow, and rapid immune cell growth as well as many others to help assist the body deal with foriegn invaders.
Absorbers - Not included in the standard treatment, but easily added, absorbers are mainly used in cases were posions, animal venom or other difficult or fast moving pathogens are involved. The absorbers enter the body and spread a specialy designed polymer compound known as 'Imea', which forces many of the offending pathogens to stick togather, while also reducing the movment of molecules through the body. This usually requires a patient to be in a critical or intensive care unit, due to the reduction in body functions- but with the aide of traditional medical facilities like bacta tanks and the expertises of medical droid and doctors, this process is usually 100 percent safe. Absorbers's main purpose is to allow enough time for the other Eden bots to due their duties, or allow time for specialized bots to be programed/engineered.
Peripheries :
Usually admistered via a hypodermic syringe, the treatment has two alternative methods of being given. An aerosal version is possible, although a great volume of bots is required compared to a dose given via injection. Also, an Eden Tank similar in function to a bacta tank may be used- usually in high risk situations were a large number of bots are required, or absorbers are being used, and the chance of their escape must be minimilized. Many Eden Tanks are also bacta tanks, or are primarily bacta tanks, and have special attachments which allow a bacta submerged patient to be injected with Eden Treatment as a supplement.
Cost
The high tech knowledge and years of research that put the Eden Project into a viable medical option cost the Falleen College of Arts and Science greatly. However, financial backing by the Bothan government helped sustain the project, and has provided the capital to create multiple new labs dedicated to the creation of doses of Eden Treatment. One Lab is already ready on Bothawui, to supplment the one already on Falleen, while several others are planned for the future.
