Description:
When the clone wars ended, it was thought that all the droids had shut down and ceased to function. The fact is thought, only those droids that were directly associated with the confederacy were shut down. There was an incident that took place during the war, when a small droid detachment, under the command of a Neimodian, disappeared. It was thought that the droid detachment had suffered a computer virus and had self-destructed, however that was not the case. The Neimodian in charge, not wanting to place his faith in general grevious or the other seperatists leaders, broke off to form his own seperate command, including the purging of the droids programming and replacing it with his own.
The small force, consisting of a providence carrier and two banking guilds communications frigates, fell into the hands of a Neimodian sect after the clone wars ended, and were hidden away, occasionally modified, and passed down through the generations, until finally, some twenty years after the battle of Endor, it was decided to use them again. The Providence class destroyer was modified and brought up to modern standards, thus creating the Xion.
The Xion, upon emerging into this new world, was completley rebuilt at a secret shipyard facility, and now is more powerful than ever. The main differences between this new cruiser and the older types is that besides the basic upgrades and modernizations, the weapons have been compacted to take up less space, and a lot of the hangar and troop carrying capacity has been eliminated in order to allow for more cargo space aboard. The Xion is designed to be a command carrier/destroyer, but can also serve as a adequate cargo transport, billing the needs of the Starstriker Corporation perfectly.
