Description:
For as long the Corellian system and it's shipyards remained independent, the Corellian corvette was one of the most widely used and avilable blockade runners and escort warships in the galaxy. But now with the Corellian system under a tight control of the Empire, her yards being used for the sole purpose of constructing their war vessels, the flow has been cut off. Until now. Starstriker Corporation presents the new Corellian corvette, termed the Standard Combat Corvette, now in production and avilable for anyone who wants one. These corvettes can either be freshly constructed, or can be converted from older ones still in service. For the latter, Starstriker corporation provides a team of engineers and the upgrade kit which can be flown straight to the system where the corvette is stationed.
There are two general models of this corvette. The first is the export model, and features a wide variety of changes from the traditional look of the corvette. Starting from the bow and working the way back, the bow module features a small hangar bay in it's forward section, that houses four starfighters and a single shuttle. In addition, the sides of the hammerhead each have a general purpose warhead launcher, with a magazine for up to six warheads of your choice. Also within the hammerhead lies the crews quarters and the bridge. The spar connecting the bow to the rest of the ship features a twin heavy laser cannon on it's topside, and a small tractor beam projector on it's bottomside. The main section of the corvette houses four quad laser cannons on fast reflexive mounts on the topside, designed to deal with starfighter threats, while the bottom side has been changed as well. Eight of the escape pods, four on each side, have been removed and replaced with mine chutes. The chutes each have the capacity to carry two large or eight medium sized mines. The remaining four escape pods have been left in place.
The communications, sensors, and propulsion systems for the export corvette are direct copies of the systems used aboard the original CR-90 corvettes. The same goes for the non-export model, which is basically a similar model, but uses a more advanced military grade reactor, and has stronger weaponry and protection as an example.
