Designed by Mandalore Technologies, the Guild Cruiser was modified, heavily, from a pre-existing design. Though radically altered, the Deception retains few of the original Hapan Nova Cruiser that it was designed from.

The Cruiser was designed to be a swift first-strike ship which relies heavily on its enhanced systems. First of all, it mounts a Mandalorian Cloaking device and wears the ore-layered hull customary to the device, which also gives the hull a very high endurance as well as giving a matte black sheen to the hull that tends to baffle the naked eye.

Reasonably armed, the craft were designed to function primarily as a stealth cruisers while also preforming well in the roll of battleship, should the need arise. Twenty heavy ion cannons provide the crafts frontline offense. Designed to disable rather then distroy, the Cruiser mounts eight cannons in a tight cluster on the crafts nose while six more can be found close together at the extremes of its wings. Secondary to that, the line carry ten concussion missile platforms, two rear mounted just above the engines, while four more line the inside surface of each wing with a forward firing arc. Five quad-laser turrets and five dual ion cannon turrets provide its point defense against starfighter scale ships. The craft also has room to accomodate a small contingent of troops, able to enter an atmosphere and deploy said troops without landing craft.

The Cruiser can also function as an interdictor, however; the effectiveness of said interdiction field is extremly limited. The cloak, shields and weapons must be taken offline to power the singular generator mounted in the aft section of the ship. It's field is extremly limited in size and capablity. It has often been considered a mistake of engineering to include the device.

Designed to mount extremely large engines, the Cruiser is one swift ship for its size. The reinforced hull plating also provides increased keel stability, allowing it to preform high-speed maneuvers that less agile ships could not manage(redoubled by the crafts thick bulkheads and limited interior space). Able to over-come the flaw of the original MCD, the Cruiser can burn pure cloak exhaust through its engines, enabling it to stay under cloak for much longer periods. It can manage high sublight speeds for short intervals when the gas from the cloaking device is diverted into the motivators, though this takes a toll on the engines if done in excess or for extended durations. To augment this, the Crusier has a highly advanced system of maneuvering vents.

The long 'neck' of the vessel has added a downward cant, and the wing portions have been given a harsher inward curve similar to the wings of most birds of prey. The resulting ship has an extremely sleek and perdatorial appearance. A pair of shuttle bays appear on each side of the vessel, tucked back near the wings. The main command bridge is situated above the nose of the ship, but no visible details reveal the exact position of the bridge in any detail... obviously to protect the ships command center.

It can be a formidable ship when used for covert warfare and guerilla tactics and is even more potent when deployed in a fleet of similar ships, such as the Bounty Hunters Fleet. Even with it's moderate armament, the ships ability to 'hit and run' makes it a valuable contribution to independent fleets.
