Description: The Angtil was designed two decades ago by Mensyl engineers to
surreptitiously seek out and explore new worlds even and to keep an eye on the increasingly hostile Irollan Kingdom. Equipped with powerful sensors for observation and discovering the unknown, the Angtil rivals the MRX-BR Pacifier in its sensor power, and certainly is superior with specialized sensors. Since fighting is distasteful for most Irollans, it possesses few weapons and little defence; instead depending on exceptional flight performance along with stealth systems to ensure that the Angtil's survival: It can usually outrun and outhide any potentially hostile force that manages to detect its presence. While the Angtil's small cargo hold and passenger section were designed to hold a small scouting expedition, it as frequently carries governmental VIPs and their baggage because of the ship's speed and stealth features.

Technological Explanations:

Speed: High

Engines: Engines and their related power systems occupy over fifty percent of the Angtil's hull. The main fuselage holds two large fusial sublight drives to provide the bulk of the ship's thrust, while each of the wings contain secondary ion drives which provide additional thrust and most of the craft's maneuverability. Unlike most Irollan craft, the Angtil operates on powercells which can be refueled in the field by a solid fuel converter.

Maneuverability: High

Flight Systems: Aside from the wing-mounted maneuvering engines, much of the Angtil's maneuverability is derived from its four etheric rudder surfaces. The obvious two are the rear wings of the craft, but the most powerful rudders are actually the ship's front canard wings, which particularly provide a vertical agility that few other starfighters can match.

Hull: Moderately Low

Hull: The hull of the Angtil is weaker than many fighter craft that smaller than it, such as the X-wing, but is nonetheless slightly less fragile than most Tie fighter variants. Irollans have not had access to many common metals or variants thereof within the galaxy (ex. Durasteel because of its meleeium) because of the rarity of the elements, and have thus relied on the most readily available material to them: tungsten. Irollans mix it in equal parts with the more common element of carbon to make Tungsten Carbide; a typically grey-black material which is incredibly hard (nearly as hard as diamonds), substantially denser than durasteel or titanium, and has a very high melting point. This provides Irollan craft with substantial protection, even more than many craft of more "advanced" civilizations, but is also quite heavy. Because the need for speed and maneuverability was paramount in the Angtil's design, it only uses thin plating across most of its hull.

Shields: Moderately Low

Shield Generators: As the Angtil is not designed primarily as a combat craft, less emphasis was placed on its defenses, since it was assumed that it would generally avoid fights whenever possible through its stealth and usually superior speed. The Angtil's shields are slightly higher than those of the famed X-wing, but they also cover significantly more area than those of the said craft.

Weapons: Low

Weapons: The Angtil is not primarily designed for fighting other starships, but the craft does carry a light armament for self defense and attacks of opportunity. Two laser cannons are mounted directly before the cockpit, while two general purpose launchers are directly underneath the cannons so that they fire out of the ventral side of the craft.
Tylyn Laser Cannon: The Tylyn is the result of Irollan scientists trying to replicate and adapt the basic laser cannon introduced to them by the Confederation to their own technology. Unsurprisingly (given Irollan capacitor technology), the Tylyn is designed to be capable of quickly charging and sustained rapid fire that would internally melt other laser cannons. This is accomplished by extensive, passive cyro cooling systems built around the barrel, and through heavy use of Tungsten carbide casing and internal systems. The only other difference with the Tylyn is its prismatic crystal, (since the Irollans don't have access to typical ones), which modulates the beams more into the ultraviolet spectrum, which results in slightly less range for the weapons, but with more radiation(thermal) damage than normal per bolt.
Stealth: To avoid danger and observe without interrupting the observed, the Angtil is equipped with the latest in Irollan stealth technology in manner very similar to that of the Loronar SkyBlind. The Angtil uses a built-in sensor blind to disguise the readings from the ship from opponents, uses electro-magnetic shields to deflect sensors, and optical shields to distort visual observation. This results in a ship that is very stealthy from long-ranges (with even focused long-range scans concluding it is a natural phenomena) but can be vaguely be observed at close ranges (it appears as a translucent, distorted blob in space, but its exact size and what it is remains indeterminable).
Sensor Blind: The sensor Blind represents a different approach to
sensor countermeasures. Instead of attempting to conceal the target
of the scan or interfere with the sensors doing the scan, the sensor
blind disguises its subject. Rather than waste energy tryng to
overpower the enemy's sensors, the blind's computer analyzes the
target and then transmits an additional energy wave to the scanning
sensor. The results vary, but most sensor blinds will cause energy
use and equipment to appear as natural phenomena to enemy
sensors.
Sensors: Scouting missions depend highly on sensors and their operators, and thus unsurprisingly, the Angtil possesses an extremely powerful sensor suite for a ship its size. Aside from the typical basic sensor systems, the Angtil sports several partially automated electromagnetic telescopes for long-range passive observation, an oversized full-spectrum transciever, and a motion sensor pack. The motion sensor pack detects minute movements by and finds small or concealed objects by sending low-power sensor pulses every half-second and recording differences in space dust movement and displacement, and thermal radiation. When these three stimuli correspond with the same general trend, it's generally a give away that the typically unseen is present. The main fault of the motion sensor pack is its relatively short range compared to most other sensors. All of the advanced sensors are overseen by two sensor operators, who sit directly behind the pilot in the cabin.
