Cybloc XII was the twelth moon of the planet Cybloc in Meridian Sector. The small moon had a rotation period which was almost synchronous with its orbit, resulting in a long day-night cycle.
The New Republic established a base on Cybloc XII which served as a major trade hub between the New Republic and the neutral worlds in Meridian Sector. Most of the population was killed when Seti Ashgad and Dzym released the Death Seed plague throughout Meridian Sector in 13 ABY. As the plague spread there was considerable looting by various fringe elements using protective clothing to avoid infection.
TRF History:
When the New Republic fell, the underpopulated moon was seized by the piratical groups that swept the sector. A rehabitation project sponsored by several corporations during that time was overrun by the criminals. Those colonists were captured and put to work as slave labour for the Hssiss Space Force, as the pirates called themselves. During this time, the pirates used Cybloc as a base to raid merchant vessels because of its proximity to major sector trade routes, the reason for its original commercial success. One day on these routes, the pirates pulled out a Confederate convoy consisting of Styria Galleons and an old enemy. The pirates were routed and pursued by the Confederate Merchant Marine. Ironically, the leader of the Confederation forces, Captain Ingham Tobias, was a former victim of the said pirates. Tobias tracked down the pirates to Cybloc XII from his experience in the sector as a prominent trader. The moon was then taken by the Confederate Merchant Marine convoy bolstered by forces from nearby Budpock. Confederation forces soon established standard defences and occupied the old New Republic naval base. Freedom and citizenship were offered to the colonists, and Cybloc XII once again serves as a major trading hub for the sector.
Role In the Contegorian Confederation: Cybloc XII primarily serves as a trading hub between the Confederation and the rest of the sector. This makes it a key asset to the Confederation within the sector, as not only is it promoting finiancial transactions to the Confederation's advantage, but it also established and maintains links with the most of the rest of the planets within the sector.
