Pretend That Today Is Yesterday

Hello.
I always suck at starting these things out.
Anyway, there are several things to over, so let's just go through them quickly.
First, June marks the one year anniversary of TRF on it's own, independently hosted, server. Yes, that is reason to dance. Go ahead, I can wait. Nice moves. Now, of course, with the turning of a year exists the need to pay. Our website hosting needed to be reupped again, and so we are asking for your help. TRF currently needs $1240.99 US Dollars for hosting, and between the staff, has come up with $45. You may notice a paypal button added to the portal. Please feel free to donate a hundred dollars or so. Also, TRF will now host both banner AND pop-up ads as a means with which to generate some new revenue. Please click them often, as they will help us keep the board alive.
...
Haha just kidding, we're all paid up for another year.
With that big business out of the way, the staff ACTUALLY did some work! Resident stud muffin Titus has designed a new skin for use on the board, known as Portal Default. This skin will be step one in creating more of a website rather then a portal, and will be sorta like what Murky Green was going to be only not so freaking ugly.
TRF will now take votes on a new showcase. Voter turnout for the last one was kinda slow, and it is hoped that this round will see a better turnout. This is your way to thank your fellow writers for their efforts; let them know that their work is appreciated. It's not much work for you but it can make a big difference when it comes to motivating a writer to continue. Plus, it gives us a standard with which to say "Hark! This be the best of TRF!", something to be proud of, and something to strive for.
Coincidentally, did you know that I have been featured on 2 consecutive showcases? I do! And you can help make it a third. Vote for me and don't vote for Omnae. He's had enough glory.
Plus, later this month we will doubtless get another perenial showcase winner from one of the minds behind Conquest of Caprica, Endgame, and Apparitions. The Fall Of Simon Kaine, currently in the planning stages, will feature the fall of Simon Kaine. Shocking, no? This one will be big and Simon is calling on members of TRF to get their brains in gear. Let this be the roleplay that five years from now is whispered of as the benchmark in Star Wars Fan Fiction. You can do your part. See the thread in the OOC Forum.
TRF is also going to host a new contest. Some of our previous contests have seen limited participation because of their nature as artistic talent shows. The month of June will see a contest anyone can enter. What kind? See the forthcoming thread in the OOC Forum.
If this is your first time at TRF, welcome! We are glad to have you and hope you will find your stay enjoyable! If you have any questions or concerns, don't be afraid to make use of the communications forum... that is, ultimately, what it is there for.
But for now, this is Master Ahnk signing out. You have been updated... and now, I have some roleplaying to do.
