Description - Designed as Kuat Drive Yards' answer to the Sienar Fleet System Immobilizer 418 line of cruisers, the Aegis cruiser and Aegis line looks a lot like the Imperial Star Destroyer, only smaller. This is not surprising, when it is considered that the Aegis cruiser was designed by the same team that designed the Imperial and Executor class Star Destroyers. The Aegis cruiser performs primarily as a picket ship and fast escort, replacing the old Dreadnaught and the aging Victory Star Destroyers. Not as expensive as an Imperial Star Destroyer, and nearly as powerful, the Aegis Star Cruiser is only half the ISD's size. However, its downside is limited starfighter and troop holding capacity. Moreover, the Imperial Star Destroyer is twice the Aegis Cruiser's size... and fear is a powerful ally.
