Hyperdrive: Low - Navsat microjump 3 Hypredrive. The microjump systems of the microjump hyperdrive allow the Corsfirr to jump into a system and make small tactical jumps to confuse the enemy. With standard class 3 hyperdrive capabilities the vessel; is slow in hyperspae and outside the Navsat network needs time to plot a course.


Speed: Slow - The main role of the Crosfirr is heavy fire support. The ship will jump to a location and bring its heavy weapons to bare on a target then jump again and to the same from a secondary firing location. The Main drive system can bring enough thrust to move the overweight mass of the Crosfirr to an average speed of 10 megalights, with 16 megalights being achievable by diverting power from other systems for a short period of time.

Maneuverability: Low - The bulk of the Crosfirr makes maneuvering difficult. With massive amounts of armor and the high count of long ranged weapons the Cros'firr depends more on the Mircojump drive than thrusters to move the ship around the battlefield. This does not mean it can not maneuver. the Cros'firr had a average turning rate of 4 DPF. in emergency situations this can be increased to 8 DPF by diverting power from weapons systems and shields to the maneuvering systems.

Armor: High - As a support bombardment platform the Crosfirr is a main target once enemy commanders determine the threat it poses to them. For this reason the forward and flank sections of the Star Frigate have extra armor. Weak from the aft the Crosfirr will generally present a broadside to the enemy to both utilize the heavy armor protection and massive broadside barrage capabilities. With armor rating from fifty centimeters along the forward prow and broadside to ten centimeters in the aft section the overall armor protection averages 3,200 RU

Shields: Medium - Relying more on the microjump systems and armor the Shield generator of the Crosfirr is standard for its size. With the new advanced Fortress overlapping generators the shields of the frigate can maintain strength with twenty five percent of its projectors destroyed. Multiple shield generators work in phase with each other to bring the shielding up to an average strength of 2,600 SBD. The system is the next step in shield. its predecessor, the LD-100, used on the smaller vessels proved the advantages of over laping multi-generator multi-projector shielding systems. The LD-2200 Projector is the next production model in the line. with twenty of these projectors spread out over the frigate the Crosfirr can maintain shield strength while keeping power drain to a minimum. The projectors will create a ripple effect as one projector switches on and comes to full power. as this happened the second one waits till the shield is energized them cut power to allow the second generator in that section of the ship to provide shielding. At any time ten generator/projectors will be operating. In emergency situations all twenty generators can be brought to full power to give the ships a Shield strength of nearly 3,600 SBD. This requires massive power from the moan core as the generators powering the duel set of projectors must depend on power from weapons and other systems to provide the extra power.

Weapons:
2 Metacannons Turrets. one ventral one dorsal. The main batteries of the Crosfirr.These large weapons can fire a variant of weapons. Large plasma contained charric maser bolts are the main ordinance used in the canon. This bolt has a much longer range than mega masors or heavy turbolaser and offers a kinetic energy bolt equal to ten heavy turbolasers. This is however not the only type of ordinance capable of being fired from the Metacannon. Ordinance ranges from massive Flak barrages that can, upon exploding, cover a large section of space with flak. A solid round advanced terminator velocity projectile can be fired which can present massive amounts of kinetic power to a target weakening shielding and penetrating a ship deep into its hull before exploding. This weapon offers a massive kinetic punch. the mass and velocity make this a blast equal to twenty heavy turbolasers. A standard load of twenty of this type of projectile is all the Crossfirr contains due to the massive costs of the projectiles themselves. Phosphorous promethium round which is used to bombard planet side targets with burning chemicals which prove very difficult to exstinguish. Last of the projectile type is the mega ion bolt. Generally not using Ionic weapons the Chiss ion technology is not as advanced as known galaxy counterparts. the use of shock and charge nets enable the weak ionic technology to be far more effective against enemy craft. The main issue with chiss engineers is the micronization of the ionic projector. This makes Chiss ion cannons very large. Upon creation of the Meta cannon engineers saw a chance to use the ion tech available to them. A massive ion charged shell can be fired at a vessel. This projection is generally five time the power of a standard heavy ion cannon used by known regions powers. The power used by these weapons is emeinse and the recharge time of the power systems and capacitors varies from one to four minutes depending on the round type fired.

8 Double Mega Masor Turrets - four dorsal on each flank. The Chiss Mega Masor is a massive Charric cannon. The largest of the Mazor type weapons these blue beam firing weapons are basically the equal of Heavy Turbolaser Cannons with more range due to the kinetic properties of the weapon. (Basically a long range HTlas.)

20 Double Heavy Masor Cannon Turrets - Equivalent to turbolasers in power these blue beam weapons have a slight range advantage but fire somewhat slower. five double turrets are placed along both flanks engaging other warships.

20 Masor Cannon turrets - These are the lighter class of charric masor and are equal to light turbolasers. These 5 cannon batteries line the ventral edge along both flanks. These weapons offer closer fire support against fast frigates and corvetts as well as limited anti-fighter capabilities.

10 Point Defense Charric Cannon turrets - These weapons give the Support Star Frigate some protection against fighters and incoming projectiles. As the only ship with no Missile tubes and no shock nets to stop incoming projectiles these weapons are very important to the life of the vessel.

Sensors: Low - The sensor package on the Crosfirr is mainly used for targeting. Since the vessel is a support vessel it is not mean to work alone. it uses data from the Navsat system to aid in targeting. Basic sensors are installed for maneuvering and other redundant sensor functions. When outside the Navsat network the Crosfirr relays on a constant laser communication feed from other ships in the area to aid in targeting and tactical combat maneuvers.

Countermeasures: Medium - Standard Chiss countermeasure pods are located on the aft section of the ship. This consists of 40 drones, 10 flare throwers, and 12 Chaff pods.

Development History: built to provide long range heavy firepower assistance in battle. The Crosfirr will escort larger carrier type vessels and battleships and provide needed firepower. The class is realativly new and the brain child of Admiral Lash himself. Moving away from the small fast vessels generally used by the Chiss the new Star Frigate will usher in a line of larger more powerful vessels to protect the Free Chiss Colonies.
