Secret fleet staging area, near Roon system.

"... and from there the logical progression of 'attack, counter-attack' will see the inevitable encirclement and defeat of Sovereignty forces."

The group of admirals and generals that sat around the table nodded their heads. Among them sat a number of men considered genius, others blacklisted by High Command. The one thing that could be said about the Diktat is that it made sure to use (or abuse) its resources to the fullest. Of them only one held both of those charactoristics, the hireling, and it was he who was first to question Pittas Modus Operandi.

A fast paced back and forth followed, the more perceptive of the commanders saw the basis of this mission as entirely opportunist and stated so, while the others simply concerned themselves with the particulars of the various engagements they would make.

But at the end everyone was satisfied, at least in his or her own way, and with that Admiral Pitta dismissed them, finally allowing himself some peace. Now he stood in his quarters aboard the Ravager II looking out over the sprawling spacescape that lay before him.

Dozens of ships, ranging from small to immense framed his view, the distant system of Roon's raging spacial storms providing an interesting counterpoint to the typical array of ships that had been assembled.

Indeed these were very special ships...

He sipped quickly on the glass of Corellian made whiskey before swirling the liquour around in both the glass and his mouth. Satisfied, as if they whiskey had to meet certain standards before being worthy of entering his stomach, he swallowed. A slight tickle of flame touched his throat which brought a small smile to his brutal features.

After the victory's at Corellia and Diamal Danetta had finally been allowed to engage in an action that would finally bring is anti-alien bias to good use.

And where better than Tatooine? It had been neglected much since the Sovereignty had seized it, the aliens gaining more 'equal rights' to land and government than had the humans.

It was the humans who made Tatooine something other than a backwater. It was the human farmers who had finally managed to ween the planet to self sufficiency. It was the human administrators of the Empire who had organised centralised government and who, knowing the planet to be worthless to Corporations, allowed the Hutts to flourish, which resulted in a massive increase in trade and luxuries to the planet.

And it had been the humans who had taken all that away. Sovereignty humans. Enforcing equal rights and civil liberties on all, even though it was only the humans who had deserved them.

Within months thousands of claims for 'native title' were issued by the aliens, primarily by the tuskans, for a return of 'their lands'.

They made claims everywhere, from outlying farms to the most expensive real estate on the planet. An Imperial Administration would have simply laughed it off. But a Sovereignty Administration did not. Massive tracts of land were 'repatriated' to various alien subsections. Humans who had lived on planet for centuries were thrown off their land with only a pittance in recompanse.

As a result, without the skilled labour running the economy, Tatooine as it was before the first fall of the empire was gone. Many humans remained, unemployed or simply uncaring, their bitterness against the 'Sovereign' administration growing daily.

Time to hit one back for the little guys!

There was an inherent bitterness to Danetta's sarcasm, even he could note that. But soon, well, soon things would change. Whether at the hands of the Imperials or not, the humans would rise up in great vengeance and furious anger against those who would attempt to threaten and destroy their brothers.

And thanks to his actions, that might be sooner rather than later.

Surface of Tatooine, Mos Eisley.

"... and the @#%$ took it all!"

The racous chorus of agreements in the human dominated bar would have been enough to draw comment on any other world. On tatooine, it was simply part of the scenery. And on any other day Kallic would have joined in shouting loud and proud his hatred of the new administration.

But today was not any other day. He and another, whom he had only met once, had been lucky enough to be chosen to strike a blow for mankind!

And so he left the bar quickly, making his way to his speeder bike and quickly embarked. He knew that today the only thing that stopped a return of the Imperial hegemony would be a Super Star Destroyer. Or 5.

Grinning to himself as he gunned the engine of the bike he quickly kicked it into gear and took off towards, well, his destiny.

10 minutes later, above Tatooine.

The Imperial Fleet reverted instantly to reveal the now backwater planet. To his left an ensign shouted out indicating the Starfuries had been launched and that all systems were on full, weapons and sheilds ready.

As planning dictated the small craft formed a skirmish screen ahead of the main fleet elements and as one the unit began making moves towards the planet. Most importantly the 3 Torpedo Spheres reported their payloads ready for delivery and began scanning the entire planet for energy buildups.

As they waited for enemy forces to engage them Admiral Pitta siezed the comms to send his men, and anyone else listening, a message.

"Gloria Imperium!"

Sovereignty Army Training Facility - Jundland Wastes (Before Imperial Reversion)

Under the searing heatm of the twin suns Tatoo I and Tatoo II, a solemn line of young military officers snapped to attention.

You'll do well son. A fine officer." Commdore Drevel said, as his pinned the new lieutenant's rank onto his uniform.

"Thank you sir." The young man said, grinning.

Drevel moved down the line, of about a dozen other newly promoted lieutenants. As he did, pinning another rank on another new officer, one of his aides strode up to him, hastily putting a comlink back into his belt.

"Sir," The aide whispered, "Imperial ships spotted by long range probes. Estimated ETA, thirty minutes."

Drevel felt as if his stomach dropped. He had been fearing this for quite some time. He knew that it was a possibility, but Tatooine was so far out, and nowhere near any major location, it was always a distant possibility, but never really a threat, "Lock down everything, raise the shield and mobilize the fleet." He said, looking back at the line of officers.

"To your posts!" He shouted, I am afraid we'll have to postpone the ceremony."

*

The Sovereignty fleet was instantly mobilized, even before the Imperial fleet arrived. Missiles were loaded, the planetary shield was raised, the Ion Cannon charged. Hundreds of thousands of ground forces on the ground were organized as well.

The planetary Ion Cannon and Shield were placed on lockdown on the ground, and forces were sent to protect them.

(OOC: Made a mistake in our manifest, the Viscounts are the Corellia class or whatever that we transformed ours into. Same @#%$, different smell.)

RSD Danetta Pitta, Tatooine.

Having a ship named after a serving flag officer was completely unheard of in the Imperial Navy today. Unsurprising then that this ships name should have held the suffix 'Snr' in it. Grand Admiral Danetta Pitta was one of the first batch of Grand Admirals to be 'promoted' by Emperor Palpatine. He had served with distinction across the galaxy, but specifically in the defence of Corellia.

Much as his son would too, only a few decades later.

And that son stood now aboard the Ravager II, his features showing ultimate resolution towards the fate of the Sovereignty warfleet that lay before them.

Meanwhile Captain Raine of the Danetta Pitta was coordinating his section of the battlefleet.

"Should we request a surrender? We outnumber them immensely..." The Commander who made the request had recently been transfered aboard the ship, and was yet to engage the Sovereignty in battle.

"It'd be a waste of our breath Commander. We're going to have to beat it out of them.

Is our blocking line complete?"

To answer his question all he had to do was look at the holo display that sat before him. The wall of Imperial skirmish ships would provide their Destroyers more than enough protection for the fleet to engage safely.

"Aye Sir."

Captain Raine nodded. "Begin the fleet advance."

Bridge of the Ravager II.

"Admiral Pitta? Our Surveyor is up."

The human nodded, his eyes immediately turning towards the holo display. The surveyor was at the back of the fleet, completely out of harms way. Suddenly a massive bulk of mines could be seen on the display as the surveyor initiated a full system scan. Only moments later the ship began to feed the rest of the fleet targetting data.

"Sir, word from the Collosus, Tatooines planetary shields powered up, and the Ion Cannon System is operational."

"Order them to begin scanning the planet, be ready to fire as soon as a weak point has been determined.

And lets begin our approach with the suns behind us."

Instead of following them, the Shrouds and Stealth Intruders broke off on their own, moving into attack positions that would most greatly damage the Sovereignty ships.

Surface of Tatooine.

He hit the edge of town in no time and Kallic swore he saw someone he recognised out of the corner of his eye. He turned, eyes immediately following the rugged speeder in which the man was travelling, but he could only just catch a glipse of the recognisable face. Watching the man go Kallic saw he was making for a different exit route.

Strange...

Mentally shrugging his shoulders the Tatooinian kicked his bike back from idle and continued on towards his goal.

It took only a few minutes to reach the ridge that overlooked one of the planetary networks Ion cannons. It would have taken less, only Kallic had dropped his speed and been forced to approach the ridge away from the small emplacement to mask his arrival. As he stopped on the ridge he stayed well away from the lip to ensure that even the entire base looking at his position would be none the wiser.

From his bike he pulled 3 long cylanders, and lay them 20 centimetres from where he would eventually shuffle. From the same pack, now mostly empty, he also pulled two sets of Chameleon netting, draping one over his bike, the other over himself.

I wonder where that other guy got too...

He shrugged again as he lay on the ground and slowly shuffled, in the manner he had been taught in his breifing, towards the lip.

The waiting game had begun.

Aboard the Ravager II.

"We are into advancement positions sir."

Pitta nodded, recognising that the twin suns of Tatooine now lay behind his fleet.

"We may advance then. Sheilds set 95% towards our bow."

The move was simple yet effective. Moving in a manner that allowed the twin suns maximum effects to be implemented against the Sovereignty scanners, chronoradiation from the ships (the method by which scanners track their targets) mingled with the intense radiation of the sun, making tracking or accurately firing on the Imperial Fleet almost impossible.

(OOC: Unless you guys do something to counteract it, my fleet will be pretty much untargetable until my next post.)

EDIT: Ezcodes again, FFS.

Oh, and what and where are the mines?

Ion Cannon Netowork - Patrol Group 4-0-8

"Move it!" Clone Trooper 30084 ordered as he and twelve other soldiers moved along their patrol route, near one of the Ion Cannon networks. One of the networks was surrounded by mountainous rock formations.

It increased defenseive capability, which allowed the patrols to watch things better as well.

The thirteen soldiers in patrol group 408 doubled their speed at the order of 30084, their commander. This was their third time to make their route, after the mobilization had been ordered. Once that was done, all planetary defenses were locked down, and guarded heavily. No one in or out.

A general shoot-on-sight order for any tresspassers had been given out as well, so the troopers were on their guard.

"Careful. This entire ridge was mined extensively a few months back, to protect the Ion Cannon. Step lightly... the mines were planted underground so we can't see them..."

They patrol moved forward.

"Raise shields, and prepare to fire." Drevel ordered form his command center onboard the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Grand.

"Enemy fleet closing."

"Put up a wall please. And fire."

The entire Sovereignty fleet launched their missiles at the Imperial formations, but mostly at the smaller ships.

"As soon as we're in range, fire all weapons. Everyone knows their targets." Drevel said as the Sovereignty ships advanced.

"Sir, fire incoming."

The words would said with utmost calm and control, the entire fleet could watch as the enemy opened up with a pitance of fire.

For the most part the hits were taken by the front skirmishers, Havens light cruisers and Fire light frigates. The damage received too was negligable, range, innaccuracy and the advantage of not being targetted by scanners all effecting the results of the attack.

But now was the time for real damage to be done. The skirmish and battleline ships moved out of the distortion effects of the suns radiation with haste, driving on towards the enemy fleet.

Tongues of laserlight lashed out on the sovereignty lines as the fleets engaged. Each ship had been given a target, although the lack of targets thereof resulted in a simple 'gang up strategy' being implemented.

But the Starfuries, they had a different objective of their own. Organised into two all encompassing groups one unit rushed at full pelt to engage the enemys missiles, their comrades moved to engage also, but as the missiles came into range and they fired, the SASs immediately began to turn back towards the Imperial Fleet.

Organised as a 2nd layer sheild against missiles, the 2nd unit was moving at enough of a speed, in the right direct that it allowed them an unimpeded attack route against the projectiles as they picked their targets. The lack of enemy firing positions (the majority of the deluge coming ORS' VSDs) further increasing the SASs ability to interdict the missiles.

As fire continued to be exchanged amongst the lines the Torpedo Spheres, still immersed in the suns radiation, began to scan the planet.

Planets surface, Tatooine.

Kallic looked at his chrono and saw he just on time.

Waiting game my ass!

Quickly but carefully the desert planet native pulled on each of the 3 cylanders until they met with his satisfaction. He would have liked to have fiddled more with them, but he perhaps could later.

Grinning at the trouble he would cause Kallic pulled on one of the metal cylanders, now extending out longer than it had before, and braced himself as he had been taught. His head near the targetting reticule gave him the perfect sighting. Immediately he lined up the 8 targetting lines with the massive round hulk of the Ion Cannon. It wasn't a hard shot, he had the high ground and the target was around medium range.

This is for taking my farm, assholes.

He smiled a bittersweet smile as he depressed the small button on the top of the tube, the simple rocket launching from the tube with a slight shreek. Not waiting to watch if it hit its target, Kallic immediately scooped up another and lined it up. As it hit his shoulder he watched as the missile impacted the cannon at the join of its barrel and housing, causing severe damage.

He fired again, this time waiting to watch where it would land before reaching for his 3rd. The missiles bansheeesque shriek was ended as it too hit home, this time near the top of the barrel.

Grinning to himself as he watched the results of his fury, the Tatooinian reached for the 3rd tube.

"Shield scan has 2 points worth targetting."

The Lieutenant Commander scratched his chin idly as he spoke. To his left Commodore Richleau nodded.

"Have the Albion and Thunderer target the first point, designate Zulu. We shall target the second, designate Whiskey.

Initiate firing procedures."

The Lieutenant Commander saluted promptly and returned to his station to carry out the order. Elsewhere around the 3 massive siege craft orders were being relayed with immediate haste.

"Fire."

The corners of Commodore Richleaus mouth rose slightly as his baby fired, a massive cone of green launched towards the Planetary Sheild. Moments later the Albion's own cone of fire could be seen as it appeared on the bridges viewport. Seconds later the Thunderer fired too, its own cone appearing moments after.

"Reload for immediate firing."

Bridge of the Ravager II.

Admiral Danetta Pitta watched quietly was the battle raged around him. He smiled as another Bird of Prey was stricken, the BoPs having been the focus of firepower from the Fleets 3 major ships. Suddenly an ensign chirped up.

"The Spheres have fired their first volley. Commodore Richleau anticipates the shield should be down within a matter of minutes."

Pitta nodded, pausing for a moment before speaking.

"Fire our volley also. Lets see if we can't make them bleed."

The ensign ran off to issue the order just as another Bird of Prey exploded.

"Oh, and fire up the gravity wells."

"Aye Sir!"

Meanwhile the Shrouds and Stealth Intruders engaged in attacks on the Sovereigntys Bakura Class SDs, railing upon the ships in concert with the rest of the fleet. Their missiles arced out at the same time as those of the fleet, swarming the belleagured ORS ships.

(OOC: Damages

Surface of Tatooine - Ion Cannon Emplacement

Several months before, the Sovereignty commander of Tatooine, Drevel, had realized that the defenses on the ground were just as vunerable to sabotage from surface-based agents as they were from orbital bombardments.

To counter the threat of sabotage, Drevel had ordered the area around all defensive emplacements mined with underground, hidden, anti-personell mines.

Now, as Kallic grabbed the third rocket launcher, something under the ground moved. Two seconds later, a loud click was heard. Then, something exploded and Kallic saw nothing more.

*

"Got him, the bastard." Clone Trooper 30084 muttered as he and his squad watched as three underground mines exploded around the rocket launcher - wielding man. The body was blown in half, ending the life of another Imperial agent.

"Let's move." 30084 said, as they continued along their patrol route.

Down at the Ion Cannon, engineers were already examining the Ion Cannon, which had been hit by two rockets of some sort. Thankfully, the rockets were poorly aimed and not very powerful.

The barrel - just simple durasteel - was already being replaced as the two fleets clashed.

Orbit

Drevel knew the Birds of Prey were doomed as the neared the huge vessels that had been stolen from the Coalition.

"Focus fire on the smaller vessels and Star Destroyers in sector four." Drevel ordered, as his fleet responded.

The Sovereignty Imperial-class Star Destroyer, accompanied by the Victories, moved in on the smaller vessels of the Imperial fleet- which were already being pounded - and focused all of their weapons on them. The Bakuras followed suit.

As the Sovereignty ships moved into the formation, the Imperial ships came into contact with the thousands of mines encircling the planet. These mines were self-propelled and upon sensing an enemy vessel, they would explode.

As the Yunos and the Viscount moved into range, the mines activated themselves and shot towards the Imperial vessels, exploding upon contact.

OOC: I told you the place around the cannon was mined, but you ignored this and godmoded, but I'll let it go. ANd sorry for the shitty post - I'm a bit busy

Damages -

Viscount - 80% Shields (Mines)
Yunos - 80% Shields (Mines)

Aboard the Ravager II.

"Sir? Sensors report a number of enemy ships have been disabled..."

Admiral Pitta nodded cautiously as he poured himself a small glass of Tatooinian grape liquor, again sniffing on the glass before allowing it to be accepted into his stomach.

"Procede as ordered."

The lieutenant saluted, and continued.

"Also, both attack and siege barrages are engaging... now."

He nodded again.

"Accelerate our fleet past the Fire and Illustrious class. Have them put full reverse thrust, while maintaining engagement."

From the sovereignty fleets perspective this was a kick to the testicles, their hopes for destroying at least some fleet units being dashed as the rest of the fleet approached even more, blocking their line of engagement with the Illustrious and Fire class.

"Launch assault shuttles and send a surrender order to the Sovereignty fleet. Jam all transmissions in and out of the system. Oh, and raise gravity wells.

Tell them they shall be repatriated to Galactic Coalition space if they surrender, otherwise they will be captured or killed. I'm quite sure they'll know where they'll be sent then..."

Bridge of the TORPS Collosus.

"Commodore Richleau? They have done nothing to intercept our missiles. Full payload has been delievered."

After the Captain spoke an ensign also chirped.

"Sir, enemy planetary sheilds are down."

Richleau nodded and ordered the reloading to continue.

ORS Damages:

ISD 0% Systems
1 BSD 0% Systems
2 BSDs 80% hull 10% systems
VSDs 80% hull, 40% systems
1 BoP 0% systems
4 BoP destroyed

Amended damages:

Corellia Class/Yunos 95% sheilds:
Staff has stated that no mines have any propulsion whatsoever, they are in no way cheap fighters. And, since you've stated they are contact explosive mines they'll only function if i come into contact with them. Also, since i've scanned for and revealed your mines you can be assured that i wouldn't charge blindly into them. Admittedly though some would be encountered, hence the amendment. Now, since there are no more in range they are out of the picture, until, of course, the battle moves.
Illustrious Class Low sheilds:
Went from barely damaged (due to the inaccurate fire while approaching from behind the sun) to destroyed? Nope. And rules state 3 posts for destruction, unless significantly smaller, which they aren't. Also, lighter sheild damage since you diluted your fire upon the FCLFs.

"All right, all right, we surrender!" shouted someone across the communcations lines. "We surrender, we're standing down, all right?"

As they indeed did. It was hopeless at this point, to resist was suicide. The shield went down, and Tatooine was lost.

Bridge of the Ravager II.

As his orders reflected bringing in the final punch that would dislodge Sovereignty ships from Tatooines orbit an ensign ran up, red faced and excited.

"Sir? We have a sketchy transmission, we think the Sovereignty has surrendered, at least at here!"

Pitta did a small double take. He had no time to waste.

"Open a channel to their fleet, tightbeam transmission to their disabled flagships bridge."

"Aye sir!"

"This is Fleet Admiral Danetta Pitta of the RSD Ravager II, you are hereby ordered to power down weapons and sheilds and prepare for boarding."

He shut off the transmission.

"Continue to close on their fleet, launch a large unit of assault transports to both their designated assault ships and also to the planet. Remain fully powered up."

The Imperial ships began to close on the ORS fleet.
