Peace Talks...

"Today, a combined Galactic Coalition and Outer-Rim Sovereignty diplomatic envoy left for Coruscant. The goal of this envoy is to make peace with the Empire. Citizens across the galaxy are obviously quite relieved, as peace will once again reign. However others may now be thinking, 'what of the fleets at Dameo?'. Well, we have some good news for you. Another envoy has been sent to Dameo, to discuss ORS and GC peace terms with them, as well as one to the mysterious fleet that suddenly appeared at Dameo during the GC attack, which Coalition sources claim was a mistake. It is true that the Coalition forces never once fired on the BDE fleet, despite being fired on. When asked about the envoys, Jan Dondana had this to say.

'I am very pleased that peace will once again come to the galaxy. Despite our governments having different views, peace is more important than anything. I speak for all of GC when I say that I hope the peace talks are successful. I also hope that an agreement is made with BDE and TNO, promising that they will not use their weapons of mass destruction, no matter what, and that they agree to disarm them. While I think is not likely I hope for it, regardless of it's likelyhood.

What weapons of mass destructions are you speaking of?

BDE has both Phage and Devastator Missiles. These Phage Missiles carry a biological agent, and the Devastators are nuclear missiles. Both are quite deadly.

What about TNO?

They have their Eclipse-class Star Destroyer, capable of cracking a planet's crust. It is also quite deadly.

Why do you think it is unlikely that they will disarm their WMDs?

Because once a government has invested credits in a WMD, they are unlikely to disarm it, as that would cost even more credits. As well, it is possible that another threat might emerge, such as the Yuuzhan Vong.

Will the Galactic Coalition be reducing it's military?

That has yet to be decided, though the answer is probably not.

Why is that?

It is possible that the Yuuzhan Vong might return to our galaxy, or another threat might emerge.

Then you do not see that as a bad excuse to get rid of WMDs?

GC has no WMDs, and has never had one. They are not necessary in defending a planet, or planets. In fact, they are best used in offensive missions, a type of mission that the Galactic Coalition will not be conducting, unless under very strange circumstances.

Isn't it true that the Mon Calamari Republic, one of the founding members of the Galactic Coalition, once had an Eclipse Star Destroyer.

Yes they did. However, that was a different time. A minimum of five governments had Eclipse Star Destroyers at that time, including the Jutraalian Empire, the New Order, the New Republic and the Mon Calamari Republic. As well, I personally do not approve of Eclipse Star Destroyers, and I will fight against them, forever.

Thank you for your time.'

Thus ended our interview with Jan Dondana, a Ruling Council Member in the Galactic Coalition. Unfortunately, we were not able to contact the Outer-Rim Sovereignty for an interview, but it is expected that we will be able to conduct one soon.

In other news, a fencing tournament has been called...

Press Release from the office of Theren Gevel:

Whichever Coalition official that published this so-called peace initiative is grossly underinformed. Since the surrender of the Outer-Rim Sovereignty to Imperial forces at Ison, Varonat, Abregado-Rae, and Kal'Shebbol, negotiations of a formal surrender agreement with the ORS government have been ongoing.

Trying to present this idiotic invitation as a proactive, balanced peace attempt on their part is folly, as is their proposing terms, such as this foolish nonsense about so-called "weapons of mass destruction". We are presenting the demands, not these inferior terrorist governments.

No offical statement was made by the Cree'Ar, and they were not approached for one.

OOC: This is silly. Do we really need 3 forums? 1 was working fine (besides the fact that Gue was banned at TNO).
