Hi everybody,

I just got my account activated today, so I thought I'd make my introductory post. I've been a fan of Star Wars for over a decade and the idea of roleplaying in the Star Wars world is one of the most exciting that I've had in a while. I'll have my character sheet up soon, I just have to hammer out some find details, and then I'll be ready to jump right into the RP!

Welcome to The Rebel Faction; use at your own risk.

First things first...

If you haven't read the Rules & FAQ, do so. Once you have, I suggest doing so again. Notable notations for your observation include the Timeline (a semi-detailed list of the events of our Galaxy), the Planets List (which factions own what) and the Groups and Factions listings. The Timeline will give you a fairly solid idea of how our galaxy differs from the Canon and in which 'year' we are currently occupied. Similarly the Planets List will allow you to get an idea of which factions own what, which factions own the most, and where those factions are located in the galactic scope. At the bottom of our main page you'll find sub-forums, each of which is assigned to a given faction... take a browse through those forums to get a better understanding of which faction does what... and to whom.

We, the Administrative Staff (and membership) suggest you postpone or otherwise delay creating a faction of your own as the intricacies of such are not clearly defined and only time will give you the knowledge required to properly manage a faction. More-over you may find that your inspirations shift and change the better you come to understand TRF and as such, your initial ideas may not match your evolving comprehensions. There are multiple factions already active and in existence, one of which will likely match your desires. However, if you are not inclined to join a faction, you do not have to. I personally encourage you to spend some time as a 'freelancer' until you find your footing. You'll find most of our members very helpful in this and any other regard.

If you have any questions, comments or just want to chat, the membership and Staff can be reached through a multitude of inter-connect methods, be that IM, Email (internal or external) or just posting on the forums.

I hope you find your niche. We are a fairly active community with a longstanding history, a rich tapestry and very adaptable. I think you'll fit in just fine.

Thanks for the overview, Beff! I've actually been looking at the site for a few days to make sure that I liked it before I committed by making an account. I think I have a good idea of the TRF galaxy as a whole, but I definitely need to look more closely at the factions - the amount of them is a little mind-boggling.

However, I do have my character finalized and I'm going to post it in the Bio section. If there's anything that needs to be corrected, feel free to let me know.

TNO: Empire. A little less xenophobic, but still the Empire. Beware the ides of Simon Kaine.

GC: The former premier lightside faction, but our memberbase has kinda stopped writing. We're a democracy... kinda. Vote Sinsang.

Confederation: It's only got one member, but he's managed to do more activity single handedly than most of the factions put together. Also a lightside faction.

Union: Inactive terrorists. I think we scared them off. Or that's what Brutus wants us to think.

Black Dragon Empire: Technophile theologists. They worship a computer, but it's really Heir Raktus worshiping himself.

Rebel Alliance: Also very much so on the inactive. Had a lot of members that didn't like TNO but hate is apparently fleeting. (At least that's what I've learned from OOC threads about fleet battles *ba dum CHING!*)

Commonwealth: A neutral combination of various governments and corporations centered around Vinda Corp and the Corporate Sector. Seth Vinda is your go to guy there. He shows up every now and again.

The Guild: They don't want you. Go away. Nothing to see here. :P

Stellar Enterprises: A very inactive corporation. Does anyone know what happened to Rob?

Germanican Grays: I think they were disbanded.

The Cree'Ar Dominion: Extra-galactic aliens who've done nothing in a long time. If you're interested, Ahnk would be a person to refer to.

Jedi: Disbanded. If you want some of that, there's Dolash and Leia who might provide some help there.

Sith: Of their masters, I think Vance is all that's left hanging about. There's Wes as well who has a character in their ranks.

Black Nebula Legion: Mercenaries that were inactive and have begun talking about getting active again. Watch out for the controversial one.

And I think that sums them up.

And yes, I got really bored.

Actually a pretty good sum-up
