So I found this website and the wording of the questions and answers seems a bit fishy to me. I get the feeling that the issues are formatted/phrased/presented in such a way that one (especially someone that doesn't have a real strong understanding of the issues) will more than likely be lead to a similar end result.

Am I just crazy? I wanted to test it by having a bunch of other people give it a shot and see what they think as well as see the results.

Yeah, the questions are so broadly worded that such minor changes can sway you to one person or another. My favored candidate only agreed with 1/2 of my choices, but looking over it, I saw only a minor difference between what I said and what the candidate said.

Especially on the third question. It seems silly to have the answers all basically include the middle class, not giving anybody the option to support tax cuts for lower and upper class (but not middle), or only lower class or only upper class. I may not choose that way, but someone might want to. It seems like a group of "stock" questions and answers that would be used on the typical passerby.

Yeah, it is. I got Mitt Romney - I can't stand Mitt Romney. No offense to you Romney supporters (if there are any on this site). I'm a McCain/Huckabee guy myself. And I really want to know how I got Ron Paul anywhere near the top. Ugh.

How accurate is that thing supposed to be though? I mean... 10 questions? What are you really going to find out? It's like one of those online quizzes that determines what Transformers character you're most like which gives nerds huge ePeens after answering 10 questions (dishonestly) they think they're the real-life equivalent of Optimus Prime.

That's what's scary about it too; I hope people don't honestly base their vote off a 10 question quiz with a narrow-minded view covering a few key topics telling you what candidate best suits you.

Well if someone was going to base their entire opinion off of a quiz that short, they probably weren't going to do a lot of research in the first place.

Ron Paul.

I got tied Obama/Edwards in first, with 1 different disagreement with both. And then Clinton after that with 3 disagreements. The new closest was Rudy and McCain with 8 disagreements each, and the other republicans were 9 disagreements. So its somewhat accurate for my in that it chose the political side of the spectrum that I'm more likely to lean towards, but I don't know enough about any of the candidates to say I support one or don't support another. But I'm Canadian so it doesn't really matter. And for some of the questions I didn't necessarily know that much about them (I'm not a very knowledgable person concerning economy) so my answers could have gone differently had I not been doing this in the morning after only 1 cup of tea and no shower.


But yeah, if you look at the questions and then the quotes provided to back of the candidate's position on the questions, they aren't always that conclusive (like the increase spending or decrease spending one, the quotes don't specifically say the words "increase" or "decrease" so in some cases its a matter of interpretation). Plus if I may support increasing government spending in some areas and decreasing it in others so it would depend on how the candidate would want to spend the money.

Ya, that's the same one I was looking at Jan. The question about would you rather raise or lower Government spending, it depends on what area. That particular question was ultra vague.

I voted for increased spending on that one because I figured for you guys to get universal health care it would require increased spending, but realistically all it would require is cuts elsewhere, and many of the quotes provided weren't necessarily saying "decreased spending" and more "fiscal responsibility". But I'm sure depending on how you have the budget set up and such you can still have increased spending and still fiscal responsibility. But yeah, the site needs improvement.
