Just won the Stanley Cup finals. Take that Canada!
The Tampa Bay Bolts.....
There are three americans on the Tampa Bay team, and fifteen Canadians.
Yeah, nice try Kas.
Eh?
Trying to downsize our victory with the mention of Canadians being on the team. Nice try.
I've been hearing where Calgary is half okay, half sore about losing the game. They were saying we don't deserve the victory because we're not a 100% city devoted to hockey.

You aren't.
We saw it with Florida. Cinderela teams make a run to the cup and then the very next year struggle for 60% attendance. It'll be seen in Tampa too.
In my eyes it doesn't diminish your victory, you fought a hard series. But with Lecavalier in Detroit next year and Khabibulin on the Rangers, you'll trade Brad Richards and Kubina and go through another 6 years of rebuilding. And you won't get 20 sellouts any year you miss the playoffs.

Hockey just isn't a big sport in the US. It's fun to play, sure, but most people opt for basketball or american football.
That's marketting. I watched a little NHL on ABC, they spent 40% of the game shilling the NBA finals. THE STANLEY CUP FINAL IS ON, IT'S A WEEK TO THE NBA FINALS, BUT SHALL WE MARKET A GAME THAT IS ACTUALLY ON? NAH.
They often cut away from commentary on the game to remind us that they also show basketball, so as not to be confused with some backwater Canadian television station.
Rediculous.

Rediculous.
Who the hell cares.
