So the election is over, Conservative minority government is the result.
Any opinions on the matter from fellow Canucks/our neighbours to the South?
Personally I'm content with the result. I didn't have a party I really wanted to win, I felt the Conservatives, Liberals and NDP all had some pluses and some negatives. While I knew I didn't want a Conservative majority (go being a left wing scared of Harper guy:) ), a minority isn't bad and he's the least likely of the lot to screw up the economy (I think).

Didn't know Canada was having elections...
The news our side has been dominated with the world economies, that and who'll win X-factor...(Simon Cowell's losing this year)
All pretty important stuff I'm sure you'd agree... :P

Don't forget the American presidential campaigns... We get enough of that over here too.

Jan, you should know better by now; no one at TRF gives a shit about what happens up here... not even us.
I mean, sure - we are the first country to hold general elections following the global economic crisis, but whatever. If it's not terrorism, happening in the United States, or stem cells, no one cares.

What's X-Factor?
The reason I don't care about Canadian politics is because they fucking keep to themselves.
Wish we could say that same in the States. Instead, everyone worries about our elections because they want to know who is going to fuck the world up next.

Harper knew he wasn't going to win a majority. His plan was just to cost the Liberals a shitload of money campaigning for an election they couldn't win. Now, when the 2009 elections come around, if the Liberals campaign and lose again, they will not have enough money to continue to sustain themselves as a political party capable of even being an official opposition.
