A pretty good Timothy Zahn novel. Set in the time between Yavin and the Empire Strikes Back, I'd say in a time period of about a month after Yavin to be precise. Main characters are a group of stormtroopers and the story revolves around their service to the Empire, with other people including Han, Luke, and Leia and Chewie up to their old tricks, Mara Jade as the eighteen year old Emporer's Hand, Darth Vader, and a certain doofus of a commander to make his first and last apperance in the Empire Strikes Back, and a villan that plays a critical role in the Hand of Thrawn series.

Has anyone else read this book, or intends to read it?

Haven't heard of it until you just mentioned it. Sounds interesting enough to make a trip to the bookstore. Thanks Park!

Actually check out any of Timothy Zahn's novels, most are pretty good.

Especially the Thrawn series...

I'm always sure to check out the Zahn books. Good to hear he wrote another great one. My favorite thus far was the Outbound Flight, that book was amazing. So Allegiance is great? I do not doubt and I shall read it.

Zahn is great, but I like Luceno more than him. I went and bought this today and started reading it, it's fairly interesting so far.

The Zahn books to me have always been the best and I love how they always complement each other

Currently reading it.

Its pretty good, but relative to Zahn's other books, I say its on the lower end of the spectrum. Considering how good the Thrawn Trilogy/Duology and the Outbound Flight stuff is however, that is not an insult in any manner.

And dont worry kracken, I havent forgotten about you, just havent had a chance to send you that PM yet.

Next to Lucas himself, I consider the works of Zhan to be about as close to Canon as you get in the EU these days. Granted, that's just my opinion. Everyone chokes and I'm willing to give him a mulligan if this is a flop (which it looks to be) in comparison to his other Star Wars works.

Without a doubt Zahn's Thrawn trilogy/duology are the best. I was referring to the styles of writing. I just like what Luceno does more, but Zahn has much better stories.
