I must say, this album has filled in the empty hole of disappointment that was Payable on Death. When I heard that Collide was going to be even harder and more intense than Alien Youth was, I got the chills. Now that I have this gem I have to say that Skillet has really matured as a band, both musically and lyrically. And lucky me, I get to see them in concert January 30th. :-D Children183 will be opening for them, they look interesting... much like my own band, them (age wise).

My favorite songs so far are "Collide", "Fingernails", "Cycle Down", and "Under My Skin". The orchestral parts in "Collide" absolutely rock, it's an eliminate I've wanted to incorporate into some of our own music, but I haven't heard it done this well before. I'll defiantly push to get some violin in a few songs now. :)

Checkout skillet.org(link) to hear a sampler of their music.

Now to get my grubby hands on Professional Rapper...

Collide

We have fallen
We have fallen again tonight
Where do we go from here
When they’re tearing down our lives?
When all they want is
When all they want is
For us to live in fear
How long can we hold on?
Can we hold on?
Hold on

There’s something deep inside
That keeps my faith alive
When all you can do
Is hide from the fear
That’s deep inside of you
Something, something, something
Something, something, something
To hold me close when I don’t know
There’s something deep inside
That keeps my faith alive

We are healing
But it’s killing us inside
Can we take a chance?
When faith and fear collide
We can make it
Step out and take it
We can’t live feeling so numb
How long can we hold on?
Can we hold on?
Hold on

There’s something deep inside
That keeps my faith alive
When all you can do
Is hide from the fear
That’s deep inside of you
Something, something, something
Something, something, something
To hold me close when I don’t know
There’s something deep inside
That keeps my faith alive

Cycle Down

Crashing, covered with debris
Dwelling in my own pity
Cry like I have not
Dig like I had not
I start to claw
Gotta get outta here
I've got to, gotta get out

I am, I am, I am on a higher ground
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down

Sinking in a sea of self
Deception never sold so well
Regret like I have not
Pain like I don't want
I start to claw
Gotta get outta here
I've got to, gotta get out

I am, I am, I am on a higher ground
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down

I'm so cold and I wonder
How'd I make it this long without You
Pull me out, out from under
On the cycle back to You

I am, I am, I am on a higher ground
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down
You are, You are my cure from the cycle down

Bad Lyrics

Same ugly @#%$ lyrics
Over and over again
Retread lame ass themes
You never know when
We'll pop up with a new song
Just the same as the last
If Jesus were smart
He'd come down and kick our ass.

Drowning sinking screaming blah blah blah
Same Christian emo horseshit
La-de-dah

The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil
The left wing is very evil

Drowning sinking screaming blah blah blah
Same Christian emo horseshit
La-de-dah

I'm dying every day
My life torn in two by atheists
Sinking in rot and decay
Drowning despite my pleas
If they don't elect the Republicans
Satan will own America
All Democrats die in their sins
Because they are
Because they are
FAG ENABLERS!

Drowning sinking screaming blah blah blah
Same Christian emo horseshit
La-de-dah

[heres the bridge its very emo lol]

Oh no popular culture is all about fear
Oh no people aren't going to church
Everyone who likes gays will die
I'm afraid of gay people
I'm afraid of anyone who likes gay people
Hey!

Drowining
Sinking
Suffering
Darkness
Emo horseshit
BLAH BLAH BLAH
ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE YOU
ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE YOU
Evil Democrats
Evil atheists
Evil television
ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE YOU
ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE YOU

Well. That was uncalledfor, wasn't it?

Cartman: [turns around] Our band should play Christian rock! [beams with pride]
Kyle: Christian rock?!
Cartman: [races back to the band] Think about it! It's the easiest crappiest music in the world, right? If we just play songs about how much we love Jesus, all the Christians will buy our crap!
Kyle: That's a retarded idea, Cartman!
Cartman: [protests, takes a step towards Kyle] It worked for Creed!
Stan: I don't wanna be in a stupid Christian rock band!
Cartman: [steps towards Stan] You just start that way, Stan, then you cross over. It's genious!
