I've been playing around with this program and have been getting pretty good with coloring pictures...

here's a couple, what do you guys think?

by the way, the third one is unfinished... has a ton of tiny tiny spots to fill that I haven't gotten to yet

The last one looks the best, you're starting to loose the jaggies and ghosting around the line art. I can still a bit though. Are you using much in the way of masks to seperate the lines from its white background without a lot of loss in quality?

Edit: And now I'm obliged to say that TRF does not condone piracy, and Deamon Hyfe should really download The Gimp rather than Photoshop, considering his needs are few, and The Gimp is free anyway.

haven't a clue what you mean, Titus... I just use the wand tool to highlight an area then eyeball shading it in with various colors

I'd try this if I were tasked with the job. Duplicate your basic image into two layers. Hide the bottom one for now. On the top layer, apply a mask and invert it. This will make what is white on the image invisible (or transparent) while keeping the black line art visible. This will also retain the smooth edges of the black line art.

Hide this layer, and re-enable the previously hidden untouched layer. Do your wand-thing, except after selecting an area expand the selection by a pixel or two. Fill and shade as desired. Don't worry about colouring over the lines. Once you're done, un-hide the masked copy of the line art, and make sure it's on top of your newly colored version. You ought to have some nice, crisp lines over your coloring.

I'd give you photoshop-spesific instructions, but despite owning Photoshop I continue to use Fireworks for my editing, and would have a hard time making a mask in Photoshop myself.

Hit me up on MSN sometime, I can help you with PS.

I just made a new sig the other day making a random background from pure filters off of cloud backgrounds and made some really wierd looking patterns in it. Check out the face in the top right.

Try the help tab. Go to index or just type in a phrase - those help tools are better then boys sometimes. Sometimes.
