Heard about this on the news today. They're opening up a Harry Potter "theme park within a theme park", at Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios Orlando which will supposedly open in 2009.

Seems like it could be pretty cool. I haven't been to Islands of Adventure yet, but from what I've heard it's already pretty awesome. So this would just make it awesomer.

It would be awesomer if they'd let you get drunk and stoned. They need to have 'over 21' nights.

Why Islands of Adventure? That place is nothing but a collection of fancy bars and dancing clubs. I remember going there dressed up as Haggrad one night with some family members. Some of the mixed drinks were good, others were bad.

They do have a lot of bars and clubs in the entry area that stay open after hours... but if you're not a hobo and actually buy tickets theres rides inside, Kraken... some pretty wicked ones at that.

On a side note... I could see you making a really good Haggrad.

There's a lot they could do at a theme park with Harry Potter... think of the possibilities. Hope it turns out well.

Ya Islands of Adventure has some pretty sick rides. Everyone I've talked to who's been on the Spider-Man ride says it's one of, if not the best ride ever.

you know, most of the people I have talked to say skip Disney and go to Universal instead... especially if you don't have kids who demand you go to Disney

I always preferred Busch Gardens myself...

Busch Gardens looks like it has some pretty sick coasters as well. SheiKra looks ridiculous. 200 foot vertical drop? It looks insane.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. One of the best in world. The ride Millennium Force is like 270 feet in the air and the first plunge is like at an 84 degree angle, almost completely straight down, you move at speeds up to like 75 mph. It was sick, I think I rode that like three times while I was there.

Been on the Millennium Force at Cedar Point in Ohio. Wicked ride, pretty good park.

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg continues to be one of my favorite parks perhaps just because I went there so many times growing up. Alpengeist and Apollos Charriot are some pretty solid coasters there.

I've been to 2 or 3 6 Flags. While I don't enjoy those parks as much as some of the others they've got their share of great rides too.

The best coaster at Adventure Island is the Incredible Hulk. The best ride there and one of the most fun rides I've ever been on is the Spiderman ride. It's a combination of a roller coaster, hydraulic chair, 3D movie. It's just done really well and is very entertaining.

I haven't been to regular Universal Studios since I was like 5 years old but I've heard they've got some sweet rides there now as well.
