The differences, by and large, are semantic but valid all the same.

To be honest, I couldn't tell you for sure anything about thanksgiving beyond turkey dinner, pumpkin pie and being thankful. Oh, and a day off school. The pumpkin pie and day off school are clearly the important parts here though.
