The part I appreciate is the fact that Googles owners could have as easily sold out their stock by now and been sitting in the shade, but they held on, and are now fighting for the rights of das intarveb...

Google's owners could have sold, and could be very, very rich, but that's not what they like to do. They're in it for the challange.

I know it sounds lame but there's a Pro-Google petition working its' way around the 'net right now. Canadian, American or freakin'-Yemin... if you see this petition I... well, you get the idea.
Goolge is a new paradigm, a new template for a new world media.

The damn Bush administration, won't be happy till were stripped of our rights and living like in 1984. Somebody should really start working on a Constitutional Amendment for Privacy.
(ANd to the inevitable responses to my remark that it's "all in the name of security against those terrorists)
Some is OK, but they have taken it too far. Warrentless wiretapping, looking at our library records (PATRIOT ACT), and now our searches. It's too far.
