Someone tell me what they think?

I've read the reviews (I'm an OXM subscriber) and heard the chatter but, as it's not really my kind of game, I'd like to read what folks around here, folks I more or less know, think of it.

I bought it, played it, enjoyed it, but didn't want to keep it. The same console co-op is good, but not great - if anything, the camera becomes more troublesome than it needs to be. Also, since I can't get online at the moment on my 360, I couldn't test out the over the net co-op (which I'm assuming allows you more freedom of movement, what with two seperate screens).

The story is pretty average, the freedom isn't as much as they would have you believe (you still only get an 'area' to run around in, as opposed to Fallout 3 or Oblivion where you get a stretch of land). I don't think it's 10% bigger than the original, as I seemed to plow through the story fairly quickly, despite doing side quests...

In the end I decided to save my cash and trade the game in for Spiderman - and I don't regret that decision at all.

Good points:

- Combat is improved and the addition of guns and such is fun.
- Levelling up is improved, and I like how your choices affect your physical status (strength based skills make you buffer, skill based make you taller (wtf?) and so forth).
- Dog companion is amusing, if somewhat annoying at times - I found it inconsistant with leading me...

Other than that... it's same ol', same ol'.

If it's not your type of game then don't try it. Personally, I really enjoy it. It's better than what I thought it was going to be.

Nah, they force both players into one screen, exactly like in Co-Op. I played with Itar last night and could only stomach about fifteen minutes.

I played it and beat it in about 16 hours of game time. I'm still going about and wrapping up the other quests, but my interest is minimal. I found the controls buggy, the story flat and short, the combat irritating (it worked great in the first one. Why change what worked?) and the Co-op hugely disapointing — and I bought it mostly for the co-op.

Don't get me wrong, it is fun. I'd wait until you can pick it up for $30.

I hear that. Might be the time of year to snag a couple months of Gamefly to test stuff out.
