If you school has a library with any sort of online database of reference materials, you should have an abundance of background information there to make your search for sources a lot easier.

Just remember to properly cite them.

I was looking for information such as, how exacly does the biotechnology work?

:| That's a wee bit vague. Biotech is a vast field. Agricultural, medical, industrial or all of the above ? Or just info on genetic engineering in general ?

I was thinking, more of the medical and agricultural. Also, how is the Genetic engineering acomplished?
